Gratitude This Christmas Season ❤️
🎄

We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Mrs. Julia Chaila, Chief Legal Counsel & Company Secretary at Copperbelt Energy Corporation PLC, and her family for their continued generosity and compassion.

For the past three years in a row, Mrs. Chaila and her family have selflessly provided a Christmas cake and drinks to the Main Children’s Ward Luntembwe at Kitwe Teaching Hospital on Christmas Day.

This beautiful gesture has brought joy, smiles, and a sense of love to our sick children during a time when it matters most.

Your kindness reminds us that the true spirit of Christmas is about giving, hope, and standing with those who need it most.

The children, their families, and the entire hospital community are deeply grateful.

May God richly bless you and your family for touching young lives and making Christmas brighter for our little ones. 🎁✨

Kitwe Round Table No. 2 Donates Assorted Items to Support the Blood Bank

Kitwe Round Table No. 2 has once again demonstrated its commitment to community service through a thoughtful donation of assorted essential items to the Kitwe Blood Bank. The gesture comes as part of the Table’s ongoing efforts to support health services and ensure that lifesaving facilities are adequately equipped to serve the community.

The donated items—which include: Milk' biscuits, drinks, sugar and tissues. This generous donation will go a long way in improving the working environment for blood bank staff and enhancing the overall donation experience for blood donors.

Speaking during the handover, representatives from Kitwe Round Table No. 2 emphasized that the initiative aligns with their mission of “adopting, adapting, and improving” communities through impactful service projects. They highlighted the critical role blood banks play in saving lives and encouraged more members of the public to become regular blood donors.

The students of the Laboratory Department demonstrated exceptional generosity and compassion through their recent Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) outreach to patients in the wards. With sincere hearts and a strong commitment to service, they donated assorted essential items to in-patients, offering not only material support but also comfort, hope, and encouragement during difficult times.

Their thoughtful gesture reflects the true spirit of humanity and professional dedication. By extending kindness beyond the laboratory setting, these students showed that healthcare is not just about technical skill—it is also about empathy, connection, and uplifting those in need.

This act of giving is commendable and serves as an inspiring reminder of the positive impact young professionals can make when they choose to lead with compassion. Their generosity has left a lasting impression on both the patients and the entire hospital community.

16 days of activism against GBV.

KTH proudly joined the global community in commemorating the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a period dedicated to raising awareness, promoting accountability, and inspiring collective action to end all forms of violence against women and girls.

This year’s event was graced by the Honorable Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Sylvia Masebo, who served as Guest of Honor. She was accompanied by the Copperbelt Minister, Hon. Elisha Matambo, along with senior government officials, representatives from various NGOs, political parties, civic leaders, members of the press, and the vibrant CBU student community.

Their presence reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that the fight against gender-based violence remains a national priority. The collaboration among NGOs, institutions of higher learning, and civil society underscores the shared responsibility required to protect vulnerable groups and foster safe spaces for all.

The 16 Days of Activism campaign holds immense significance. It not only raises awareness but also serves as a powerful reminder to survivors that their voices matter. It encourages victims to speak out, seek help, and break the silence that too often surrounds abuse.

As emphasized throughout the event, ending gender-based violence demands unity, courage, and sustained action—at both institutional and community levels.

Together, we can build a society where violence has no place and every individual is treated with dignity.
