MindHealth Assessment and Educational Center is concerned with the neuropsychological assessment of children who display problems in behavior, learning, meeting specific milestones and/ or anomalous cognitive abilities; and adults who have neurocognitive deficits due brain trauma or illness. This assessment helps to identify the conditions to which certain symptoms seen in children and adults can be attributed to. Assessment is primarily done using neuropsychometric tests as well as a variety of play-centered and observational activities which are used to measure the clients’ strengths and weaknesses; of which the results are compared to standardized norms. Therapeutic and behavioral based treatment for the clients with cognitiveimpairments is also offered so as to counteract the negative impacts of the impairments.

MindHealths’ education services include creating Individualized Education Plans (IEP’s), tailored to the children’s abilities and educational needs that can be easily followed and implemented by the child’s teacher so as to ensure successful learning. It also offers tutoring services for children with special needs in subject areas that cause particular concern for the parents and teachers.

While the neuropsychological assessment activities are diagnostic-related, it is important to note that this is not an exact science as the brains’ plasticity as well as other environmental and social factors can, overtime, alter or influence brain behavior relationships either positively or negatively.

That being said, it is the aim of MindHealth to provide you with the most accurate interpretation of assessment results that is possible so as to aid in the commencement of ‘healing’.
