On this , we honor the legacy of a leader whose moral fiber shaped a nation. As the Psychology Association of Zambia, we reflect on KK’s profound statement:

"We are men & women of principles, we have done all this in search of peace."

KK proved that peace is not passive, it is a principled, active search. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to applying psychology as a tool for that same peace.

As we mark the close of Women’s Month, we reflect on the important role women continue to play in advancing mental health, equity, and wellbeing within our communities.

WE celebrate Limpo a psychology consultant currently focusing on maternal and child mental health in low-resource settings. "My work emphasizes the early identification of perinatal mental health conditions and their impact on mother–infant bonding and early childhood development.

Through my ongoing work in Kanyama, Lusaka, I have been implementing community-based mental health interventions that integrate mental health and psychosocial support into primary healthcare. This work is guided by an ecobiodevelopmental perspective and is grounded in an understanding of intergenerational adversity, adolescent mental health, and the importance of culturally responsive care.

Engaging with women and families in this context has reinforced the strong link between mental health and the broader issues of rights, justice, and action. Many women continue to navigate significant psychological and socio-economic challenges with limited access to appropriate support. These realities underscore that mental health is fundamental to dignity, functioning, and opportunity".

As we conclude Women’s Month, this serves as a reminder that "advancing justice requires sustained commitment moving beyond awareness to action by strengthening systems, integrating mental health into primary care, and ensuring services are accessible and responsive to the lived experiences of women and girls".

As we close the month of March, we spotlight the strength, resilience, and impact of women in psychology. 💜

“As a woman in the field of psychology, I have witnessed both the resilience and the silent struggles that many women and girls carry. This year’s theme, Rights. Justice. Action., reminds us that empowerment goes beyond words it calls for intentional action in how we listen, support, and advocate.

Through my work, I am committed to creating safe spaces where women and girls feel heard, valued, and empowered to reclaim their narratives. True change happens when we move from awareness to action—challenging stigma, promoting equity, and standing together to advance the rights of every woman and girl.

Our voices, individually and collectively, have the power to transform lives and shape a more just society.” ✨

A study in South Africa explored how loadshedding affected small business owners and found that;

Small business cannot function without electricity leading to lower income and unstable work routines.

The electricity situation leads to financial setbacks that spill over into family life; inability to meet household needs, send money home, or maintain their previous living standards.

Time to Unwind.......!

Play is FUN.....

Playing is one of the most important things you
can do even as an Adult together with Children.
The time you spend playing together with children gives them a lot of different ways and times to learn.
