Did you know that children born with a cleft palate often need speech therapy even after surgery?
This is because surgery repairs the structure, but therapy teaches the child how to use their new muscles to produce clear sounds.
Speech therapy helps children learn proper speech techniques, reduce nasal sounds, and build communication skills that support learning and social interaction.
If you know a baby born with a cleft condition, early support can make all the difference. Contact us today on the numbers +260 774601682 or +260977740166 to learn how we can help!

These highlights from our first Night to Shine are moments we will carry in our hearts for a long time.

From the moment our contestants arrived, dressed up and glowing with excitement, the room was filled with smiles, laughter, and happy tears. Watching each child walk in with confidence and joy reminded us why this night matters so much. Every child deserves to feel celebrated, valued, and seen.

We are deeply grateful to our incredible partners, Tim Tebow Foundation blind mission and everyone who stood with us, for helping make this beautiful evening possible.

A heartfelt thank you to our Guest of Honour, Elvis Nkandu, Minister of Youth, Sport and Art, who represented the Minister of Community Development and Social Services, for taking the time to grace the event and share in such a meaningful moment with our children.

“Mommy, why are my legs so bent?” I never knew how to respond,” Justina, Joshua’s mom, shared when we first meet them.
Four -year-old Joshua’s legs began to bow when he was just over a year old, making it hard for him to walk or play with other kids. His mom, Justina, tried everything she could to help—but nothing worked, until she heard about CURE Zambia on the radio and so his healing journey began. Joshua received life changing surgery at CURE Zambia and is now doing great.
We are thankful to God to have been part of his spiritual and physical healing. That will see him go through life with new found confidence.
Special thanks go to our partners and friends for making his healing possible!

Meet Astridah, a gentle and determined young girl who was born with a rare condition called pseudarthrosis. This meant that Astridah’s bone quality was poor, causing a false joint (or a break that refused to heal) in the middle of her shin bone just above her left foot.
For years, she could only watch her friends play from the sidelines, living with pain and without answers. Hospital after hospital offered little hope, only the heartbreaking option of amputation, with no promise of a better future. But everything changed when a compassionate priest pointed her family to Beit CURE Hospital. With the loving support of donors and a skilled medical team, Astridah received life-changing surgery and a custom prosthetic leg.
Today, Astridah walks confidently, plays football with her sister, and dreams of becoming a nurse. Her story is a beautiful reminder that even the most impossible dreams can come true with love, faith, and support.
Join us in thanking God for Astridah's healing. We also thank our partners and friends who made her healing possible!

Our Story

In 2004, CURE signed an agreement with the Zambian Ministry of Health to operate a pediatric teaching hospital specializing in the treatment and care of children living with physical disabilities. The Beit Trust, a UK-based charity, provided $1.5 million to support construction of the hospital as a centennial gift to the people of Zambia. The Zambian government donated a 60-acre plot of land for the hospital site. CURE Zambia opened in 2006.

CURE Zambia is one of the few hospitals in Zambia able to adequately address the surgical needs of children with disabilities in the country. The hospital campus is comprised of six buildings, housing 45 patient beds in the children’s ward and 16 beds in the private patients ward. The hospital also houses a chapel and spiritual center, three operating theaters, an outpatient clinic, an administrative building and a general services building. Services at the hospital are focused on pediatric orthopedics and reconstructive plastic surgery.

Through the work done at our hospital and at various mobile clinics, CURE Zambia is addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those who need help most.
