I suspect it is hard to love a health care worker. We get up early, we come home late or may have night shifts and are too tired to cook. We miss weekend events, holidays, birthdays. We don't get too excited over a minor cough or cold, we have seen far worse. We don’t always want to talk when we come home, we have talked all day. We don't always want to move when we come home, we have moved all day. It may seem that we have left all of our caring, our heart, and our love at work, and have come home to you empty, we probably have.
I guess it is hard to love a health care worker, but know this: we still need your love. We need your understanding. We need to know that you “get it". We need to be the one taken care of every once in a while. We need someone else to take charge of the details because constantly doing everything ourselves is exhausting. Sometimes we need our feet rubbed. We need a shoulder to cry on when we can't even tell you why we’re grieving. We need you to do the hardest work you may ever take on, which is...to love a health care worker.
I would like to thank those of you out there who love them and let us do this work, this calling, this life: care work ❤️ 🏥💊💉😊🚑🥼🥽🧫🧪🌡️🧬🩹🩺🔬📴
Copy and paste if you are a health care worker or love a health care worker! 💕

VERY EMOTIONAL STORY: LOOK OUT FOR YOUR NEIGHBOURS DURING DIFFICULT TIMES

This is very important as it could save a life.

This story will make you cry because it is a true story that took place in one of the neighborhoods in Sanaa, the capital city of war-torn Yemen.

There was a man who lived in a two-room house with his wife and three children. Before the war he was gainfully employed, working on a daily paid job with stable conditions of service. His family lived relatively well. But when war broke out in Yemen, it created a lot of difficulties and problems that changed everything for this family.

The man lost his job as his employers went under. He could no longer provide for his family but he went out daily with the hope of finding work to support his family. Most days he returned empty handed. So, most nights his pregnant wife and kids went to bed hungry.

One night, he came back and found his wife in severe labor pain. He rushed her to the Emergency Room at Al-Khazzan Hospital in Sanaa. But before leaving the house for the hospital, since it was late at night and he did not want to disturb the neighbors, he locked the children in from the outside as they slept peacefully.

At the hospital, the doctors, after examining his wife, informed him that his wife needed immediate Cesarean Section if mother and baby are to be saved. The complication was very bad.

He was told to pay fifty thousand Yemeni Rials (about 40 US dollars) to the accounts office. He did not have the money, so he begged the Medical Director to authorize the operation to save his wife and baby, promising to go raise the money and pay afterwards. The Director agreed, on compassionate grounds, to perform the C-Section, but insisted that the mother and baby would not be released afterwards until he paid the money. He accepted the terms and so the operation was authorized.

The man left the hospital to search for money, not knowing from who, or where he will get such huge amount of money. The country was in deep straits and everyone, including the high and mighty, was in a bad shape financially. Besides he did not know or have access to many rich people. His social circle was small and mainly plebs.

His mind was preoccupied with his bad state and how he could raise money to offset the hospital bill so much so that he was completely distracted and so failed to pay attention as he crossed a busy road. Right at that moment, a young man driving a car reckless knocked him down, killing him instantly. The driver sped off to evade justice.

Some passers-by gathered and, not knowing who he was and who to contact about the accident, took the body to the morgue at Al-Khazzan Hospital, (same Hospital where the wife was).
The mortuary section did not know who he was or who to contact and, therefore, tagged the body as "unknown".

After seven days at Al-Khazzan Hospital, the Director of the hospital concluded that the man had absconded, abandoning the woman and her child. He told the woman that her husband was a cheat. Not knowing why her husband did not return, the wife could not defend him. The woman wept as she expressed the hope that her husband would show up and pay up.

The story began to spread about a man who brought his wife to the hospital and abandoned her, leaving a huge bill unpaid. People whispered among themselves how irresponsible the man was. At the same time, the story of a man who was crushed to death by a hit-and-run driver as he came out of the hospital and attempted to cross the road, began to emerge.

Could the death man be the one who was thought to have absconded?

The hospital authorities investigated and established that the time of the accident tallied with the time the woman's husband stepped out of the hospital. So, the Director took the women to go and do an identification check. The dead man was indeed her missing husband. The woman was deeply shocked and completely devastated. The load was too heavy to bear. People spoke of how unfortunate she was.

Meanwhile, nobody had heard anything about the children since their father locked them in and rushed their mother to the hospital exactly a week ago. Neighbours had not seen them and nobody bothered to check on them. The house stood silent, with no sound or movement.

Back in the hospital, the woman was discharged and released unconditionally. The hospital authorities were so generous that they even gave her some medical and food supplies and asked the ambulance crew to take her home. When they got to the house, the door was still locked. The ambulance crew helped her to break the door. When they entered, they were greeted by three decomposing bodies. The children, unable to break the door open and with no food to eat, had struggled and died painfully of starvation. For seven days, no neighbour had checked on them.

The woman collapsed and died instantly. Her heart failed due to debilitating shock and monstrous grief. Her newly born baby was thus left fatherless, motherless and siblingless. It was a touching and unfortunate situation; an avoidable tragedy if only the neighbours had been a bit more neighbourly.

Please, always check on your neighbors and loved ones who are vulnerable in times of crisis and hardship. Do not be so self-centered that you never check on your neighbours.

Tell such stories to your children and family so that they know the amount of blessings they are living in and truly appreciate its worth. Train them to be friendly and neighbourly.

COVER THEM UP INSTEAD OF EXPOSING THEM

After I had cleaned and tidied up my house, my brother phoned me and said, "My wife and I are coming to visit you."

I went to my kitchen to prepare something for them, but I could not find anything available to serve them.

After much thought and search, all I could lay my hands on were a few oranges. Therefore, I made two cups of cold juice immediately.

When my brother and his wife arrived I was shocked to see his mother-in-law with them, who came to visit us for the first time.

So I served the two cups of juice to his wife and her mother, and I placed a cup of water in front of my brother, saying, 'I know that you like 7Up.'

He drank a sip and realised that it was water.

And suddenly his mother-in-law said, I'm feeling for 7Up. Please give it to me!

Here I was, baffled and caught up with embarrassment.

But my brother saved me by saying to her, 'I will bring you a clean glass from the kitchen.'

After a while we heard the sound of a glass breaking in the kitchen. He then came back and told his mother-in-law, 'Sorry, it fell from my hands and the glass broke. But no problem, I will go to the shop to get another one.

His mother-in-law refused and said, "There is no need for that. It was not meant for me anyway."

Eventually when they were going, my brother bid me farewell and placed some money into my hand and said, "Don't forget to clean the kitchen of the 7Up so that ants do not come." And he bid me farewell with a smile and love.

In this way, my brother considered my feelings and concealed my shortcoming.
THIS IS SIBLING LOVE, AND BLOOD RELATIONSHIP.

When you're in a position, use it to lift others.
Running anyone down will never make you better!

Let me ask, how do you treat your siblings, friends, family, colleagues, etc?
Do you cover-up their shame or you expose them?

A food for thought!

👉What is Physiotherapy ❓
Physiotherapy can be defined as a health profession that focuses on the science of movement and helps people to restore, maintain and maximize their physical strength, function, motion and overall well-being by addressing the underlying physical issues.

👉What does a Physiotherapist do ?
A Physical therapist (PT), also known as physiotherapist, by using evidence-based kinesiology, electrotherapy, shockwave modality, exercise prescription, joint mobilization and health education, treats conditions such as chronic or acute pain, soft tissue injuries, cartilage damage, arthritis, gait disorders and physical impairments typically of musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, neurological and endocrinological origins.
Your Physiotherapist asseses and diagnoses your condition, creates a treatment plan for you, guides you through your treatment, and prescribes assistive devices for you if indicated.

👉Who needs Physiotherapy?
Pretty simple. Every individual needs Physiotherapy either to add years to their life, or life to their years.

👉What are the specific conditions treated by Physiotherapy?
Conditions treated by PT include but are not limited to:
Arthritis, Carpal tunnel syndrome, Chronic pain syndrome, Neck pain, Concussion, Frozen shoulder, Migraine, vertigo and imbalance, Golfer's elbow, Heel and foot pain, Low back pain, Motor vehicle accident injuries, pediatric Conditions, Pelvic floor conditions, Post surgery, Repetitive strain, Rotator cuff injury, Sciatica, Sports injuries, Sprains and strains, Running injuries, Tendonitis, Tennis elbow, TMJ dysfunction, Whiplash, lung problems like asthma.

👉Why should I choose Physiotherapy as a career?
Becoming a Physiotherapist means that you can play a key role in enabling people to improve their health, wellbeing and quality of life. If you enjoy patient care, and love getting people back to their maximum potential after an illness or injury while still getting paid, Physiotherapy is for you.

👉Where can a Physiotherapist work?
Physiotherapists can work in hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, private practices, sports teams, as lecturers in the university, military etc.

👉Are there areas of specialization in Physiotherapy ?
After your bachelor's degree, you can decide to specialize in any of these: Pediatric physiotherapy, Cardiopulmonary physiotherapy, Sports physiotherapy, Geriatric physiotherapy, Orthopedic physiotherapy, Women's health, Neurology physiotherapy, Oncology and palliative care.
