Invest to prevent violence against women and girls," we are in search of stories from survivors, advocates, and allies to shed light on the reality of GBV.

If you wish to share your story and contribute to our campaign, kindly submit it to smhsconference@gmail.com by November 15th, 2023.

Greetings!
Today been a Mental Health Day serves, as a poignant reminder that "mental health is a human right." It underscores the vital importance of acknowledging and prioritizing the well-being of individuals across the globe. One crucial aspect of this theme is recognizing how childhood trauma can significantly impact an individual's mental health throughout their life.

Childhood trauma, such as abuse, neglect, or witnessing violence, can leave lasting scars on a person's psyche. These experiences can lead to emotional and psychological struggles that persist into adulthood. It is our collective responsibility to protect children from such trauma by creating safe environments, providing support systems, and raising awareness about the signs and effects of childhood adversity.

By understanding that mental health is a human right, we pave the way for a more compassionate and inclusive society where individuals are encouraged to seek help without stigma. Addressing childhood trauma is not just a matter of compassion; it's a fundamental step towards ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life, free from the shackles of past trauma. On this Mental Health Day, let us recommit ourselves to this cause and strive for a world where mental health is truly recognized as a universal human right.
