Arthur Davison Children’s Hospital stands UNITED TO END MALARIA* 🦟🚫

Today, our team proudly participated in the Malaria Day Commemoration held here in Makenzi, Ndola District under the powerful theme:
“Drive to End Malaria, Now We Can, Now we must”
From the wards to the community, we see every day how malaria affects our children. But we also see hope in early testing, in treated nets, and in families who act fast.

At today’s event, we joined partners, schools, and health teams to:
✅ Raise awareness on prevention
✅ Demonstrate the proper use of insecticide-treated nets
✅ Encourage early testing & treatment because fever should never be ignored.

Malaria is preventable. Malaria is treatable. And together, we can end it.
Let’s keep our homes free of stagnant water, keep our children sleeping under nets, and keep seeking care early.

Mr. Rutherford, Backed by Zambezi Diamond, Donates 20 Buckets of Paint and Pledges Shelter Upgrade at Arthur Davison Children’s Hospital
Arthur Davison Children’s Hospital has received a double boost from Ndola businessman Mr. Rutherford and Zambezi Diamond.

Zambezi Diamond came on board to support Mr. Rutherford in delivering the 10 buckets of paint he had earlier pledged to the hospital.

Responding to the Minister’s call for stakeholders to support the facility, Mr. Rutherford then added 10 more buckets, bringing the total donation to 20. He also committed to paint the visitors’ shelter and carry out works to make it more habitable for parents and guardians.

“As a Ndola resident who has benefited from the health services here, I am happy with the Minister’s stance and felt it was important to give back,” Mr. Rutherford said during the handover.

Hospital management expressed gratitude for the support, noting that the visitors’ shelter upgrade will ease the burden on caregivers while they wait for their children.

“We are hopeful and happy as a hospital. This support will go a long way in improving quality service delivery to the children. We look forward to continued stakeholder support,” said Dr Inambao Muleya the Head Clinical Care standing in for the Senior Medical Superintendent.

Mr. Rutherford appealed to the corporate world to join the effort. “Arthur Davison serves all of us. Let’s not leave it to government alone,” he added.

Arthur Davison Children’s Hospital is the Northern regoin's only specialist pediatric hospital, attending to thousands of children annually.

Arthur Davison Children’s Hospital is pleased to host the National Heart Hospital Paediatric Team for a special outreach clinic right here in Ndola.

This is part of NHH’s Copperbelt Province outreach to bring specialised cardiac care closer to our paediatric patients and their families.

👶 Kitwe (KTH)– Wednesday 15th & Thursday 16th April 2026

✨ Important notice:
All paediatric patients scheduled for review this year are encouraged to attend the outreach clinics in either Ndola or Kitwe, instead of travelling to Lusaka.

This outreach is designed to make follow-ups easier, reduce travel burden, and ensure continuity of care closer to home.
