Breast cancer is a silent threat, and vigilance is our best defense.
The most important — and often the most affordable — screening tool is breast self-examination, especially for premenopausal women. This should be done monthly, ideally a few days after your period ends when the breasts are least likely to be swollen or tender.
There are also other screening options, such as clinical breast exams, mammography, and ultrasounds, which may be recommended based on your age, family history, or other risk factors. Talk to your healthcare provider about what’s right for you.
Ladies, let’s do this together.
Be your sister’s keeper — ask the women in your life if they’ve been screened. Remind them. Encourage them. Support them.
Together, we stand stronger in the fight against breast cancer.
Early detection saves lives.
