Showcasing Innovation at the National Youth Day Celebrations

We participated in the National Youth Day celebrations on Friday, 21 February 2026, held at the Igava Vocational Training Centre in Marondera. In alignment with this year's theme, "Empower Youth, Secure the Future," we proudly exhibited our projects and software developments.

Our exhibition stand was a testament to how youth in local governance are driving the pillars of Vision 2030, particularly in Digital Innovation and Economic Empowerment. It was a privilege to demonstrate how Junior Council is leveraging technology to build a prosperous future.

A Huge Step Towards Keeping Girls in School💃🏽

We visited Pfumo Primary School to donate sanitary pads for their Pad Drive. It was a powerful reminder of how a simple act of support can make a world of difference.

Junior Mayor, His Worship Cllr Kudakwashe Magora, alongside the Junior Deputy Mayor Mutsa Mashonga and Junior Town Clerk Nyasha Kwaramba, led the handover ceremony. They spoke passionately about the importance of menstrual hygiene and how access to sanitary wear is key to reducing absenteeism among young girls.

We are committed to practical initiatives that uplift and empower the youth in our community. A massive thank you to Pfumo Primary School for the warm welcome.

We were honored to participate in a impactful Breast Cancer Awareness campaign this week, joining forces with fellow youth leaders.

The event's attendance included the Harare Junior Mayor and the Junior Minister of Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Hon. Shalom Chiwawa, alongside other dedicated junior councillors and parliamentarians.

ChitungwizaJunior Deputy Mayor, Mutsa Mashonga, delivered a powerful address on this critical health issue, underscoring the importance of youth advocacy in public health. The engagement continued through interactive games and activities focused on raising awareness.

A transformative journey of growth and leadership!

We just returned from an incredible 3-day Induction Camp at Karimazondo. We're buzzing with new knowledge, skills and a reinforced passion to serve our community....

We delved into the workings of local government, learned about referral pathways for youth issues, youth governance and strengthened our teamwork through dynamic activities. A huge vote of thanks to our dedicated facilitators from the Senior Council Municipality of Chitungwiza and the Ministry of Education for equipping us with the tools to lead.

We were joined by Her Worship Mayor Rosaria Mangoma , Acting Town Clerk Mr J Nemuseso and Mrs Manhivi Ministry of Education.

The future is bright for Chitungwiza, and we are ready to play our part.....

Junior Deputy Mayor Chelsea Wazvaremhaka, Junior Mayor Moses Oswell, and Junior Town Clerk Arthur Bvukumbwe graced the event as Guests of Honour, representing Zimbabwe with pride and vision. 🇿🇼✨

In a lively Zoom debate featuring Avondale Primary School, Junior Council Chitungwiza, and youth from across Southern Africa, we united to explore creative, just, and sustainable ways to end plastic pollution. 💬♻️

From dialogue and justice to arts and theatre, the day was a celebration of youth-led climate action. The presence of Prospective Junior Councillors made it even more promising our future is indeed in capable hands. 💡👩🏽‍⚖️🎭
