Removal of Layers
Understanding Enlightenment, the nature and purpose of Shadow and means of shedding/healing.

Birthed into this world you were led by the space on top of your head. You emerged from pure Love, the pure light of Consciousness, a flower of a thousand petals illuminated your chosen path, before it faded into the fable we try to remember when we are old enough.
Why would we do this to ourselves? Forget such an empirical tale that would ensure our journey through days would be perfect? Ambivalence isn’t what we came to learn. There is no growth in the ambivalent. As the prerogative of the Universe is to expand, so is our human nature. . . . .
Our Human experience is a
It is in the moments of life’s emotions that wrap around you in layers of contrast. Gardens of sweet perfume, feathered song and pleasing colours merge with the dark caves of fear and doubt, sometimes even tragedy beyond what you think you can bear.
But I am here to tell you that these moments are here to serve you, they come from the unseen of your story. Written by you to guide you home as a beholder of the flame, the light of understanding and compassion for your own heart. When you seek the shadows that cool your heart and obscure the sensation that makes you part of everyone and everything, seek to lie in the shade of separation and ask that you may find a dappled clearing. In this clearing feel the warmth of the Sun and allow it to gently fuse with your skin, let it into your body and feel the warmth deep inside your bones. Rest with the internal illumination of what once was shadow, before the light above moves and the dapples creep towards you bringing shade once more. Smile with knowing and take comfort that you now have light, warming you from within. . .

The African forest shrub Tabernanthe iboga, more commonly known as iboga, has been translated as “to care for” or “to heal” in various tribal dialects* of the Congo Basin where it plays an important cultural role, especially in Gabon. There, it has been used for centuries as a medicine and sacrament, particularly in the traditional spiritual discipline of Bwiti.People of the Bwiti religion and their predecessors the Bantu tribe have who have used the iboga root bark for at least a century for healing, hunting, rituals, celebrations, and personal transformation. The Bwiti ceremonies developed around the iboga plant include the initiation of adolescents into adulthood, and rituals involving music and dancing that cement community bonds and align the participants with the wisdom and clarity of the unseen realms. Over time, as some of these rituals were shared with foreigners, iboga became similarly beloved and renowned outside of the Bwiti peoples. More recently, people around the world have begun using this treasured plant for psychedelic therapy and alternative addiction recovery treatment.

While it’s not exactly certain how and when iboga made its way from Western Africa to the rest of the world, ibogaine advocate Howard Lotsof first championed iboga in 1962 as an addiction treatment for opiates after it allegedly cured him of his he**in habit. Lotsof would go on to author research papers on the subject and pave the way for FDA clinical trials of ibogaine as an addiction remedy.

Ibogaine (12-methoxyibogamine), the primary active alkaloid produced by i4boga, has shown promise in the treatment of certain substance use disorders. Notably, the compound has been found to reduce the symptoms associated with opioid withdrawal syndrome, post-acute withdrawal syndrome (PAWS),5,6 and cravings for opioids, alcohol, co***ne, and other stimulants.7 Existing pharmacological models of addiction do not comprehensively explain these effects. Ibogaine interacts with multiple neurotransmitter sites throughout the central nervous system8 and has neuroprotective effects on dopamine and motor neurons. It also leads to increased levels of glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF), a hormone that stimulates the growth of new dopaminergic neurons.9 Ibogaine’s primary metabolite, noribogaine (12-hydroxyibogamine), has a similar pharmacological profile and is thought to support the long-term mitigation of cravings for various substances.

As the Bwiti and their predecessors have understood for centuries, iboga can allow a person to shed their destructive habits so they can be reborn with a much more centered and healthy perspective on life. Thanks to the power of the plant and its Bwiti caretakers, this Gabon national treasure is quickly becoming a treasure of the world.

It is said that the crown chakra has thousands and thousands of lotus petals, meaning there are infinite ways to the Divine, to Oneness.

Oneness, Wholeness and Wellness, nest within each other as Spirit, Soul and Body, gifted to us in delicate equation to be mindfully explored so that Heaven and Earth may merge at the Heart and realize Yoga.

It is in this unfolding towards the truth of authentic embodiment, that we are greeted by an inward gaze revealing a vast light thrown forth from galaxies, solar systems, suns, moons and stars that dwell within.

This is to become as one with Creation itself.

It is to feel the great swell rise at your back, an immensity that carries a paradoxical tale only allowing this one moment to be seen; the centre point and the circumference of an infinite circle.

Therefore, would you choose to “drink the Physician’s bitter potion”, that you “may be healed by the hand of the unseen.”

Would you look to embrace the smiles of your shadow, and fathom the persistency of illusion in order to venture with a quickening in the direction of visceral harmony with everything in existence.

And at the juncture of Heaven and Earth, where Human hearts light up, prayers are spoken and drums are heard, teachings emerge and earth medicines are preserved while devotions are sung and perceptions expand, all to provide sustenance for the individualized experience that we have chosen to encounter and call Life.

Embhodi is many ways to wellness, through sentience.

Be kind be gentle. Pay attention. Offer purposeful healing. Seek Equilibrium. Unfreeze, slowly. Stretch yourself out into the world. Let your eyes calibrate to this new light and notice how it caresses the lines and curves and soft and hard of you. Allow your mouth to twist and stumble around new shapes. Be so very sensory. Notice everything. From every angle. The way your bones feel. The way you orient to space and time. Invite your whole being into this new way of living, into the totality and wholeness of it. Let it be strange and uncomfortable and painful and stiff. Let it be magical and novel and unfamiliar and entirely wonderful. Follow the whispers where they lead.………….. welcome to embhodi.
