Can festive lights affect your eyes?

Ruva explains that yes, they can. Bright or flashing festive lights may cause eye strain, headaches, or discomfort — especially for those sensitive to light or spending long periods around decorations.
If you experience irritation, blurry vision or headaches, take regular breaks and reduce exposure where possible. And if symptoms persist, a professional eye check is always recommended.

Christmas Eye Safety Tip 🎄👀

Natasha reminds us that while decorating is part of the festive fun, eye safety comes first. When hanging tinsel, ornaments and hooks, be sure to keep them away from your face, one small slip can quickly turn a merry moment into an “ouch.”

Let’s keep the season joyful and our eyes safe this Christmas.

🟢 Wellness, conversations and eye health awareness at The Cairns Food company 🟢

We spent Friday outdoors at The Cairns Food company’ Wellness, chatting with employees who stopped by our stand to learn more about their eye health. From itchy eyes to screen-related headaches and blurry vision in bright light, we shared key signs to watch out for, even when eyesight feels “fine.”

Due to our outdoor setup and strong sunlight, we didn’t conduct on-site screenings with equipment on the day. Instead, we focused on education, awareness and encouraging employees to book full eye tests in-store when needed.

Because good eye health starts with knowing what to look out for.

⭐️ See joy, share kindness, and stay focused on what matters most. ⭐️

With school holidays here, Andipa reminds us to slow down, enjoy the season, and keep our hearts and minds focused on what truly matters.

A gentle Monday motivation as we step into a new week with gratitude and intention.

🟢The Delta Wellness Day at UZ Grounds was a meaningful opportunity to engage with employees about their eye health. 🟢

Our team had valuable conversations with visitors at our stand, educating them on the importance of regular eye checks and early signs to look out for, even when vision seems good.

Common symptoms discussed included:

• Itchy or irritated eyes
• Blurry vision when exposed to sunlight or prolonged screen-time
• Headaches after extended digital use

Due to the outdoor setup and strong sunlight, we did not use the auto-refractor or screening equipment on the day. Instead, we focused on awareness, guidance, and helping individuals understand when to seek a full eye examination in-store.
