Happy valentine's day! The optic nerve carries messages from eye to the brain. It's so delicate akin to a fibre optic cable and very vulnerable to some insults. Biggest insult is glaucoma which permanently damages the optic nerve leading to permanent or irreversible blindness. Love your optic nerve and get screened for glaucoma!
