Carly is the Registered Dietitian of Optimal Wellness Zimbabwe. She was born in Zim and later graduated as a Dietitian with a BSc Dietetics, Honours, Cum Laude from Stellenbosch University. She received multiple academic awards here, including Golden Key Society as well as the Rector’s Award for Academic Achievement.

She went on to work in a hospital, gaining a wealth of experience in clinical Dietetics, working with critical care ICU patients, premature and malnourished pediatrics, gastrointestinal surgery, infections diseases, chronic lifestyle conditions & more.

Carly then opened her own Private Practice in Sandton, Johannesburg where she has been based ever since, helping patients reach their health potentials & find balance and peace with food and their bodies. Here, her passion for holistic health and the physiology of the human body and mind continues to grow.

She went on to further her knowledge with a foundations in Nutrigenomics course, DNAlysis accreditation & a sports nutrition course. She also had the opportunity of working very closely with one of the leading genetic testing and personalized medicine companies in the world, DNAlysis, and has had a lot of experience over the last 4 years in working with genetic testing, personalized nutrition and lifestyle.

Carly always uses a patient centered, individualized approach with each and every patient and is passionate about finding out what works for them sustainably, in the long term. Her special interests include; gut health and relative gut disorders such as IBS, nutrigenomics (the interaction of genes with nutrition), chronic diseases of the lifestyle, intuitive eating, nutrition and mental health, PCOS, eating disorders, relationships with food & body, weight management as well as child and adolescent nutrition.
