Facts about Men's Health
Men's strength should not be underestimated. However, when it comes to health, no one is immune. Health issues must be treated seriously. Men are susceptible to health problems if they do not take care of themselves.

Movember serves as a reminder of Men’s Health as it is often ignored. It is vital to openly discuss the topic without stigmatisation. The moustache season is not for all fun and games in growing a beard, but is meant to raise awareness for men by creating a platform and acknowledging that men should feel free to talk about their mental health and go for health checkups.
Societal constructs such as the notion that “men don’t cry,” fuel a form of toxic masculinity. Men are then shamed and often looked down upon for showing emotions, and have been deprived of a vital outlet for taking care of their mental health. It is important now more than ever to remove the destructive stigma that illnesses such as depression and anxiety do not discriminate based on an individual’s gender identity. Physical health is equally important, especially receiving early detection of testicular cancer and prostate cancer.
In this issue BinduMed joins the movement to raise awareness for men. Explored are the risks of Prostate Cancer, going for check ups and men’s sexual wellness.

Munhutu Dermatology alerts us on Maskne

What is maskne?
Maskne (mask+acne) is the novel term that has been coined to describe the newfound skin problems many people are experiencing on their faces due to daily mask-wearing. It refers to the pimples, red spots, dark spots and blemishes that are developing on the lower covered half of the face due to persistent mask-wearing. When you breathe or talk, your mask tends to trap a lot of hot air. This air creates a warm, humid environment — and an ideal setting for yeast, bacteria and other flora. These bacterial imbalances and friction from your mask can promote acne resulting in pimples and pustules appearing around the nose and mouth
