Vacuum‑Assisted Breast Biopsy (VABB) precisely targets non-palpable breast lesions using advanced imaging guidance. Ultrasound or mammography helps the clinician pinpoint the area of concern, while a small probe is inserted through a tiny incision. Gentle suction collects multiple tissue samples from the exact spot in a single pass, improving diagnostic accuracy. In some cases, small benign lesions can even be completely removed. This minimally invasive approach reduces discomfort and allows for faster, same-day recovery. To learn more about VABB, please visit our website 👉🏾 mic.co.zw/vacuum-assisted-biopsy

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive diagnostic tool that uses magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed images of the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. It is particularly useful for detecting neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, brain tumours, stroke, and nerve injuries. MRI allows doctors to visualise abnormalities with high precision, enabling accurate diagnosis and informed treatment planning. The procedure is painless, involves no radiation, and provides crucial insights into the structure and function of the nervous system 🧠

Fibroids are benign growths in the uterus that can cause heavy, prolonged, or irregular menstrual bleeding. Over time, this excessive blood loss may deplete iron stores in the body and lead to iron‑deficiency anaemia. Symptoms of anaemia can include fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, and feeling cold. Uterine Fibroid Embolisation (UFE) is a minimally invasive procedure that blocks the blood supply to specific fibroids, causing them to shrink and reducing bleeding. By addressing the source of heavy menstrual loss, UFE can help improve anaemia and enhance overall well-being. For more information, visit our website 👉🏾 mic.co.zw/ufe

Secondary infertility occurs when a woman struggles to conceive after previously giving birth. It can be caused by changes in the reproductive system after pregnancy, infections, or complications during childbirth. Even if conception was previously successful, scar tissue, blocked fallopian tubes, or hormonal imbalances can affect fertility the second time around. Fallopian Tube Recanalisation (FTR) is a minimally invasive procedure that clears blockages in the fallopian tubes, improving a woman’s chances of conceiving naturally. If you would like to learn more about FTR, please visit our website 👉🏾 mic.co.zw/ftr

Stenting is a minimally invasive image-guided procedure that may be used to treat narrowing or blockage within an artery. During the procedure, a catheter and balloon are used to widen the affected vessel, and a stent may then be placed to help keep the artery open and support blood flow. In some cases, more than one area may require treatment, depending on the clinical findings. Patients may feel slight pressure at the insertion site or mild discomfort during inflation, but the technique is designed to be as comfortable as possible. The procedure is performed by an interventional radiologist after appropriate assessment. As with all medical procedures, suitability, expected benefits, and possible risks vary from patient to patient and should be discussed with the treating doctor. When a breast abnormality is identified on imaging or clinical examination, an ultrasound-guided breast biopsy may be recommended to obtain tissue samples for laboratory analysis. Using ultrasound guidance, the radiologist is able to visualise the area in real time and accurately guide the biopsy needle to the area of concern. The procedure is usually performed under local anaesthetic through a small skin incision and is commonly done as an outpatient procedure. It does not use ionising radiation. As with any medical procedure, suitability, benefits, and possible risks should be discussed with your doctor or the radiologist.
