Breast Cancer Awareness:
Knowing the difference between a cyst and a tumor
breast cancer awarenessLumps in the breast or armpit area should always be treated as serious matters. Performing self-exams or having a clinical exam or mammogram performed in a timely manner can lead to early detection and treatment, which can greatly increase chances of survival.

However, lumps in the breast or armpit aren’t always dangerous. Some lumps can be cysts, which may feel like a lump but is actually a small sac filled with fluid. Cysts may appear singularly or in a cluster.

The existing drug estradiol can inhibit tumor growth in a subtype of triple-negative breast cancer. The researchers may soon test the repurposed drug in a phase II clinical trial.

Researchers have discovered that the drug estradiol may work as a new treatment for a type of triple-negative breast cancer, which is highly aggressive.

September 21st every year is World Alzheimer’s Day around the world. This is an international campaign aimed at raising awareness and challenge the common stigma that surrounds Alzheimer related dementia.

Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease that impairs memory and other mental functions. It is the most common form of dementia that generalizes memory loss and loss of other
essential cognitive abilities that are serious enough to interfere with an individual’s daily life.

September 21st 2018 marks the 7th world Alzheimer’s month since the campaign was launched in 2012. From previous studies, an average of 2 out of 3 people globally have little
or no understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and associated dementia in their countries. Since its inception, the impact of World Alzheimer’s Month is increasing. However, the stigmatization and lack of information surrounding dementia remains to be a global problem that calls for global action.

Most people often think that this disease is a normal
part of ageing. Though this may not be true, a greatest risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease is increasing age.mThis is evident by majority of Alzheimer’s patients being 65 years or older. This doesn’t completely classify the disease as an elderly disease.

For this year’s event, organisations and interested individuals can get involved by supporting awareness through contacting the Alzheimer’s association in their specific countries

Holistic Health Together

Jumla Africa Group is the first organization to launch the managed health care offering in Zimbabwe where there are over 25 registered medical aid societies covering more than 1 million lives.

The organization is a division which is wholly owned by 2CANA Solutions Zimbabwe. Durban based 2CANA Solutions, the parent company, is a market leader in providing IT services to the financial services industry and launched its Health Information Platform (HIP) to the SA healthcare sector 3 years ago, which has made a major impact on the healthcare sector.

Efficiency is improved via HIP’s business process configuration and management tools while customer service is enhanced via HIP’s seamless multi-channel communications center. Better risk management is made possible by HIP’s intelligent decision support solutions and expert rules and protocol based processing.

HIP underpins all four drivers within the Jumla Africa business model – its robust flexible system, strong managed care protocols, efficient administration system and the trademarked Demand Management service. The system is flexible, scalable, robust and reliable. This flexibility enables us to rapidly adapt and to accommodate client requests.
