I grew up in Zimbabwe, with a great passion for nature and the outdoors.

At 18 I moved to London and fell in love with the diversity, different cultures, and openness of London and its people. I worked in the Events Industry for several years which was intense, demanding, and very fast-paced. I attended a Yoga class during a particularly busy work period and was able to find stillness and a place to really see inside myself. At this point, I realized that for me Yoga would be a life - long journey of learning and practicing. I believe that trying to live Yoga and its key beliefs every day lightens my heart and soul. I traveled to India in 2016 to explore and learn more about Yoga and its origin, completing my 200 hours of Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India. The experience gave me an in-depth understanding of the theory and practice of Yoga and proved only to enrich my love for it. Since then I have been teaching Yoga full time as well as welcoming a little human into the world. First In Swansea at two different Studios/Centres and now having moved back home to Zimbabwe I am based in Harare in a variety of different spaces. I absolutely love working with people, to empower them through the applications of Yoga. I am currently doing my IAYT Certified Yoga Therapy Training which uses a Biopsychosocial Spiritual approach to wellbeing. Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health & wellbeing through the application of the teachings & practices of Yoga. This is a path I feel very drawn and excited by as it aligns with my personal and life values. I teach a range of different classes to a large variety of people because I truly believe that yoga can be for everyBODY! The movement of Yoga moves stagnant energy/ tension and creates space in the body to allow fresh energy to come through. Yoga Asana (movement) works deep within parts of the body that have emotions or stuck energy that other forms of exercise can not do. This release of energy brings balance to the central nervous system. Yes, you may get stronger or possibly lose weight, but the purpose goes beyond the physical. It is a healing practice that meets your body where it is at. All things pre pregnancy, pregnancy, birth, post part and beyond. Beginners Yoga which is focused on understanding your own body and breath, whilst establishing good strength and mobility to live comfortably in your daily life. Restorative Yoga. In times of chronic stress this deeply nourishing practice couldn't be more important. Restorative Yoga is the gift of doing nothing. Nothing but deep relaxation to soothe, comfort & replenish the body & mind. A full 90 minutes to unwind and ease out of the heightened state of the sympathetic nervous system into the parasympathetic. With the use of guided breathwork, meditations and deeply relaxing propped up Restorative positions I will hold space for you to release mental, emotional and physical tension, so the entire body & being can remember what it feels like to fully relax. Private 1-2-1 Yoga Therapy. At home or in the studio this is a tailor made session to suit you and your needs in relation to the application and practices of Yoga. I wholeheartedly believe in the utter joy and balance that yoga can bring to each and every person. I wish to share that joy and help others find their own balance and learn all that is within themselves.

Befriending your Nervous System

While we may think our brains are in charge, the heart of our daily experience and the way we navigate the world begins in our bodies with the Autonomic Nervous System.

This is the place where the stories emerge about who we are and how the world works, what we do and how we feel.

Our Autonomic Nervous System is made up of the parasympathetic and sympathetic systems with the vagus nerves providing the primary pathways for the parasympathetic system through the Dorsal and and Ventral branches.

🟩 Ventral - connected and able to communicate effectiveyl, meeting demands, engage with life, go with the flow.

🟧 Sympathetic:
REGULATED- energy to move, regulates heart & breath rythems
SURVIVAL - chaotic, angry, anxious, stressed, mobilized to attack, frantic, overwhelmed

🟥 Dorsal:
REGULATED - calm, relaxed, easy digestion, easy to sleep & be intimate
SURVIVAL - shutdown, disconnect, drained, exhausted, hopeless, disassociated, going through motions without feeling

When working with the nervous system we want to create the awareness and ability to move flexibly between the states, this is a sign of well-being and resilience. It is when we get caught in dysregulation (constant survival activation), unable to find our way back to regulation that we feel distressed.

❓ Question for you -
❓ Do you know what you already do to help regulate yourself?

There are some people that have the most incredible ability to endure and embrace hardship with a sense of humour and grace.

This week I lost my first Yoga Therapy client to cancer.

I worked with her for 6 months and throughout our time together I really got to know her and the resilience of the human spirit. She taught me so much and I feel so so honoured to have been part of her story and hopefully contributed to her finding a little peace and comfort throughout.

You will forever be in my heart. Gone way too soon, conservation & the world has lost a hero.

Though our time together was short, you left an unforgettable imprint on my heart. I will miss our sessions together dearly.

Thank you for letting me in ♡

May you rest in well deserved peace & love.

What tops up your tank?

Part of Wellbeing is a consistent topping up of resources so you are far more able to actively engage in life 💖

A lot of the work I do requires huge amounts of attunement - picking up on body & breath signals & intuiting what the next best practice will be for my clients. Mainly in the private Yoga Therapy sessions. Amongst other things, I work with trauma, High risk individuals & pregnancies & terminal illness.

I am also still in therapy doing EMDR for previous trauma and traumatic birth etc. Adapting to a new life in my favourite country, working hard to get my health & wellbeing business going and trying to be the most present Mum & partner I can be.

All of this makes my wellbeing non negotiable as I want to do everything I'm doing and keep doing it with my whole heart ♡

Burnout is a very real issue that is happening more and more in the younger generations, this is not ok. Chronic stress over long periods wreaks havoc in our bodies & brains...

So now more than ever we need to look after ourselves, making ourselves " high up on our lists " "a priority".

Figuring out what restores you is vital. For me it is gardening & nature immersion.

What is it for you?
