What a great day! I had the privilege to speak for Langley equestrian academy about saddle fit! This was such a fun group of teens with some really great questions. I really love when i have the chance to share my knowledge with other rider enthusiasts!
I also was so lucky to see my old buddy Sylvester with his amazing human!

I am absolutely shocked, and saddened about this news. I didn’t know him well, but I knew him enough to know he was a great horseman and vet.
The horse world lost a good one…

Dr. Hermen Geertsema passed away unexpectedly in October 2023 in Langley, British Columbia. He was born in 1966 in Kantens, the Netherlands to Jakob and Anneke Geertsema. He immigrated to Canada with his parents and siblings as a young boy and grew up in various towns and provinces across Canada. His wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, and friends are deeply saddened by their loss. He loved people deeply and was so proud of his family. A man of ideas and energy, he practised veterinary medicine for nearly thirty years in the Fraser Valley and began ranching in 2020 in addition to his practice and other projects. He was a great outdoorsman and loved hunting and guiding. Relationships were very important to Hermen and he made friends everywhere he went. While he will be sorely missed by family and friends, we know that he is Home.

A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to educate! One of the local high schools reached out to me to talk about equine therapy to their equestrian program. We talked about modalities, as well as did a mini demonstration. It was such a great day, with great students and even better questions!

Another part of equine therapy is proper exercise your horse… Romeo’s ear buddy is a little bit over weight, since she is too little to hop on, I settled for the next best thing.. she usually just follows us around in the ring but today she didn’t.. here is Romeo making her move.. as you an tell she wasn’t impressed… PC: Maneframe imagery
