I was so excited to find stevia plants at my local grocery, and to see Chamomile blooming in the front garden🌼🥰
I still have loads of tomatoes, broccoli plants, pea, beans and carrots to go in! It's been slow moving on the garden but, that's what happens when the rest of Life has been so fast. Meh, we'll getter done! 💪🌿🙌

That's right... The Carleton Place & District Horticultural Society meeting is tomorrow, Wednesday April 5th. at 7pm (doors open at 6:30)

Our guest speaker Brittiny Lepage will present: GROWING DAHLIAS WITH THE DAHLIA DARLING!

Brittiny will show you how to successfully grow Dahlias in our local growing zone. Everything from starting your tubers in Spring, growing all Summer long, and storing them for Winter.

Brittiny Lepage is a local Dahlia and cut flower grower in Carleton Place. She Grows Dahlias for Exhibition Shows and for wedding events and flower arranging. She is a Dahlia hybridizer who is breeding her own varieties of Dahlias.

Brittiny have an assortment of hard to find Dahlia tubers and already growing Dahlia plugs for sale for anyone who would like to try growing them this year!

Come enjoy an informative and fun evening. Don’t forget to bring a friend or friends to this special presentation

A big thank you to Foodie Fresh Fungi for cleaning out a storage shed, making cage stands today, and arranging everything. *He jumped, as soon as I said, "I wouldn't mind having quail." Lol He even has set up a meal worm farm so, the birdies have a good source of protein! 🪱

Lots of babies made it to new homes! Including 45 tomato plants😳🍅(I always do this🙄 lol) 19 broccoli, and 13 pepper plants🌶🤪
Next is the ginger and turmeric for bigger homes! 🏡 There's lots more to plan and plant!

I've been making natural deodorant for family for years. I started making my own to find something that didn't have harmful ingredients, was cost effective, worked, and was natural without leaving a 'wet feeling'😬
We've had a few renditions of homemade deodorant but, this is the recipe that has stuck so far. And although, some may not get used to the idea of a deodorant with finger application, we all have gotten used to it🤷‍♀️ To each their own🙂
The scent I used this time is a blend of citrus essential oils along with hints of Lavender, Clary Sage & Peppermint🪻🍃

Winter has been tough. Ya know when that "walking zombie" feeling lasts for months cuz, Life keeps sending things to navigate? Lol
Ya, that one.
Starting veggie and herb seeds were in the plans but, Life things kept taking precedence.
Lastnight, I finally got to organize some trays, organize some jot notes on what's in the trays, and organize some dreams of growing more than our gardens currently have the space for! Lol
I just have to remember that even on the years we've sown seeds late, we've still grown and eaten some beautiful things. I just have to remember that Life is like that too, sometimes.
Here's to growing new & beautiful things, no matter the timing. Keep sowing and watering The Dreams✌️🌈🌟

This is a typical tea that I make every night. It has great warming spices like anise, all spice, ginger and turmeric. Add a little citrus and some local honey, and it's delightful 😊 Perfect for the days you wake up and it has snowed... again... 🙄 ps. Mason jars are for everything! lol
