Thank you Lydia Frederick at Rogers TV for sharing our story. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and our community in our recovery post wildfire. And to Tricia Thorpe for your fierce advocacy for local communities to get access to needed services and funding. So many rural communities are denied insurance for fire protection, while we are also denied access to DFA (Disaster Financial Assistance).
Looking forward, we need to raise awareness about the risks and collaborate with local services to create unique strategies for rural communities.
I also think the government should be held accountable for forestry and wildfire mismanagement on Crown land.
Thank God for the many local and private charitable services that have helped us to rise from the ashes. Love wins ❤️🙏
