🚨 Important Update – Please Share! 🚨

Starting Wednesday, February 5, Leeds Grenville Paramedics, the Kingston Central Ambulance Communications Centre, and Kingston Health Sciences Centre will implement the Medical Priority Dispatch System (MPDS) to improve emergency response.

📞 What This Means for You:
✅ Expect more detailed questions when calling 9-1-1 to assess the patient’s condition and location.
⏳ Non-life-threatening cases may experience longer wait times based on urgency.
🔄 Less-urgent cases will receive follow-up monitoring to track any changes.

MPDS is a proven, evidence-based system used in over 35,000 ambulance communications centres worldwide, ensuring:
🚑 Faster response for critical patients
🛠️ The right paramedics with the right skills & equipment for each case
🏥 Reduced pressure on emergency departments

MPDS is already in use in Toronto, Ottawa, Peel, and other regions—and will soon be standard across Ontario.

Flu shot Clinic next week! If you can't make it on the 13th call and book an appointment to get your flu shot anytime. Getting your flu shot greatly lessens the effect and outcome of influenza especially for those over 65 and immune compromised.

Milly has been such a supportive team member she will be missed. Our RN Erin Dewar will be stepping into the Health Educator role when she returns from maternity leave early November.
