What's the difference between paramedics and community paramedics?
Where paramedics responds and reacts when someone is ill or injured, a community paramedic's work is proactive. Our goal is to help people stay healthy so they don't need to go to the emergency room.

What is the role of a community paramedic?
We focus on prevention both one-on-one, in peoples homes, and in group events.
One of our aim's is building our client's confidence in chronic disease management, recognizing and acting on early warning signs of declining health, and health care system navigation.
We provide community health related orientations and talks on topics from CPR and AED use, to opioid overdose management and Naloxone injections, to EpiPen administration, to elementary school talks on when to call 911, and more. We can create and/or assist with any event that helps with the physical and/or mental health and wellness of our community.
We also hold regular vitals clinics where any community member can come and have their blood pressure, blood oxygen level, blood sugar, and heart rate checked.

These services are provided at no cost and covered by the health care system.
