Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, often affecting the ovaries, bladder, and bowel. This can lead to inflammation and the formation of scar tissue, impacting fertility.

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month, and at RCC, we're dedicated to raising awareness about this challenging condition.

Fertility is impacted by many factors, making it difficult to know when is the right time to seek fertility help. As a general rule of thumb, a woman under 35 years old who has been trying to get pregnant for a year, or a woman over 35 who has been trying for six months and unable to conceive, should consult a fertility specialist.

On October 21st & 22nd, we will be participating in the virtual walk/run/wheel national awareness event, as we believe everyone deserves the chance to build their family.

Proceeds from the annual fundraiser will go directly to supporting FMC's access and advocacy programs to ensure more equitable access to fertility services are available to all Canadians.

Meet Dr. Yasmine I. Usmani, Partner and Medical Director at the Reproductive Care Centre! 👋

Dr. Usmani completed her Honours undergraduate degree in Life Sciences at Queen’s University and then went on to earn her medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

She became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada after completing her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Saskatchewan. She then pursued subspecialty training in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Western Ontario.

As the Medical Director and Physician at the Reproductive Care Centre, she hopes to continue the tradition of ethical practice and delivering patient-centered, accessible care that has been the foundation of practice at RCC. She has a special interest in the ethics around reproductive tourism and making clinics a welcoming and inclusive environment for those seeking care from all walks of life.

Meet Dr. Clive Lee, Physician at the Reproductive Care Centre! 👋

Dr. Lee obtained his medical degree from the University of London in England. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Manitoba. He went on to complete his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Western Ontario.

Dr. Lee manages a busy practice within RCC and the city of Toronto. He is trained in laparoscopic surgery and he remains on staff at the Humber River Regional Hospital.
