✔️Clothes for baby – layers of onesies and clothes in newborn and 0-3 month sizing
✔️Diapers and wipes
✔️Olive oil for baby’s bum to easily get off meconium
✔️Pads and the Frida postpartum underwear (these were one of my favourite postpartum items with Liam!)
✔️Breast pump

Besides working to set up patients for maternity leave, I wanted to share what baby prep has been looking like in our household lately! Just a reminder I will be on mat leave as of May 23rd!Lots and lots of clothes and baby washing to freshen up Liam’s hand-me-downs
Sterilizing pump parts and bottles (we struggled with Liam latching for the first month so I’m ready for it this time in case it takes time again!)
Taking our prenatal vitamins – Liam is currently obsessed with all things supplements so he’s my helper in getting the pill containers ready
Packing the hospital bag
Preparing Liam for the new addition (as much as you can with a toddler!)
Babymooning – some sunshine and feet up was much needed!
All while seriously nesting and cleaning every cupboard and closet in our home lol
And celebrating our future addition to the Abaton family!

What supplements am I taking in my third trimester?I thought I’d provide a glimpse into what my supplement routine looks like as I’m nearing the end of pregnancy (yay 3ish weeks to go!). What I have taken shifts based on the trimester and my needs, but this is my current regimen:
✨Prenatal vitamins – I can’t understate how important prenatal vitamins are for not only ensuring baby is getting what they need, but also making sure mom doesn’t end up depleted and exhausted!
✨Fish oil – supporting baby’s brain development and keeping mom’s fat stores buffered
✨Calcium – to support baby’s skeleton growth (this demand increases as you enter second trimester)
✨Magnesium – to support restless legs, sleep, bowel movements and general muscle tension
✨Probiotics – these are especially important later in pregnancy for helping reduce baby’s chance of atopic conditions like eczema and supporting mom’s bowels and reducing risk of UTIs
✨Choline – to support baby’s neuro development – in some cases you can get this through food alone (eggs are especially high in choline)
✨Vitamin D – deficiency increases the risk of many pregnancy complications
✨Red Raspberry tea – a uterine tonic then helps prepare the uterus for labour
