I've been busy in my career after I finished school.

I still have my own business but I have slowed that down for now to create something pretty special.

I'm the Lead Health Coach for a new Integrative Lifestyle Medicine Platform that starts with cardiologists, nurses and healthcare providers that integrates exercise, nutrition and behavior change to help educate, guide and support people to better health that they can sustain.

This model supports our separate businesses which is what Dr. Alter also really wants from this. To not just support the community by helping them learn more about their health to ensure prevention or reduce the risk of disease but to also support self-care practitioners and other clinical professionals to build their businesses to help others.

I'm super proud to be a part of this. We haven't launched the program yet, but right now we're just really trying to build a community. With his current patiences at Milton Cardiac Clinic but also outside of the clinic for those who want to reduce their risks of cardiovascular disease as they age.

Going into Menopause, this was what saved me. To be honest. ♥️
I was in a perpetual state of needing to look a certain way in order to feel worthy.
When I got into post-menopause, there was a change like a flick of a switch. 💡
I realized that my worth had very little to do with my body and some wrinkles on my face and more about stepping into my truth.
Being what I should have always been. 🙌🏻
Living truly authentic isn't easy in this social media, societal storm of unrealistic beauty standards.
I workout 6 days a week. But my goals are much different than when I aimed for capped shoulders, high b***y and a 6 pack. 💪🏻😊

Who can relate!!?? 🙋🏻
I know I'm making a joke about this but I'm going to get serious for a second.
When our hormones start fluctuating and lowering one of the biggest hits we take is in our brain. 😵‍💫
Menopause is hard on a lot of our body systems.
We end up struggling with our thoughts, have poor word recall, can't manage stress like we used to, are easily overstimulated in a loud busy environment causing us to feel anxious and we can struggle with articulating our thoughts. 🤯
Our brain has a lot of estrogen receptors. So we will see a shift.
I'm past it now BUT if I'm tired, nervous, stressed or overstimulated it rears its ugly head. 👿
This is why it's important to focus on self-care - nutrition, exercise and lifestyle habits - as we navigate through this phase of life.

It's easy to get "caught up". 😥
This can be trends, making money, being popular and fitting in.
I've been in this industry for such a long time and I'm very protective of it. In the last couple years, it's been very difficult for me to not get caught up in the negative feelings towards how people choose to market themselves. 😤
I firmly believe in authenticity, sharing but not oversharing and sitting very tightly in integrity.
For a woman, this is a very hard industry to navigate. We're under a microscope constantly. For me in the past this has led to very self-destructive behavior. 💥
With my body, my integrity and with my business.
I stopped selling weight loss a long time ago and not because I think it's a bad thing. But mostly because most coaches hang their hats on that because it's so sellable. It's a hot button tool to get clients. From there they have to do whatever they can to make sure people lose weight which can be harmful for clients. 👈🏻
In that we come up with all these methods, hacks, marketing, ploys etc. to pull people in.
For about 5 years or so there was a big boom in business coaches. The biggest message was it doesn't matter what you know. It's all about being able to sell it.
2024 has been a great year for me. At 54 years old I Got a diploma in nutrition. I got a job with a cardiologist because he believes in what I do and how I do it. 😊
I'm also a part of the Longevity Path team where we educate groups on health and wellness.
This year is about growth for me and that means letting go of any negativity that might pull me down. #2025
I've learned over the years that I get exactly what I deserve based on being true to myself. That has paid off for me.👌🏻
So I'm going to trust in that.
I'm going to trust in consumers that they start to learn more about how to choose the right person for themselves and not fall for marketing schemes and manipulation.
My biggest tip would be to work on your goals first and foremost. I'll share a bit more about that in my next post. 🫶🏻

But as you can see from the slides, it's more complex than some influencers want you to believe.
We have 11 body systems that rely on one another. It was once believed our endocrine and nervous systems worked independently but we now know they work very closely together. 🎯
Our systems don't work segmentally. Which is why when working through Menopause and beyond, it is about a lot more than any simple method or hack. 🔗
If you feel pain or osteoporosis is a major issue for you even after focusing on nutrition, exercise and lifestyle habits, see your doctor about MHT.
But even if you are using MHT, make sure you are supporting your body outside of that. So that you remain healthy and strong with great quality of life as you age. 🫶🏻

I think we often just focus on the negative. Like what we haven't got done, or how well we did something, or maybe that we should have done something differently.
By listing what's going well for you, whether it be midweek or at the end of the week, gives you a much different perspective. 💯
You start to realize that you are showing up for yourself more than you thought. That's a motivating factor to keep you going.

As we move through Menopause Transition, our biggest obstacle can be ourselves. 💯
We are so determined to hold on to who we were and what used to work, we ignore where we are now and what our bodies are trying to tell us.
The signs of our bodies changing do happen quite early. But because we are just living our lives and continue to treat our bodies like science experiments, we end up putting ourselves in a place that isn't where we really want to be.
When your body whispers, listen. Especially in menopause transition. 👏🏻
Before you do anything, listen. Figure out what the changes are and what triggers them.
Menopause is actually quite complex. It goes far beyond just low estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. 🎯
It affects many body systems and when those body systems are affected, it creates certain reactions and symptoms.
Knowing what happens, why it happens and how to maneuver through that without making it worse, is key. 🗝️
Our bodies are telling us things every single day. If we choose to ignore it, we will struggle as we go through menopause transition.
Your body actually really does have your back. But we really don't always have our bodies back. You have to have a relationship with your body that's ride or die. And if you don't, it's really hard to find a place of Peace and happiness. 🫶🏻

I want to start by saying you ARE NOT BROKEN! YOU WILL GET PAST THIS! 🙌🏻
I would like to be able to say there is some magic solution, a method, a supplement or some gadget to help you get through this, but I'd be lying.
When I was doing my mission statement for my business Nourish Longevity, I had to look at my values and my ethos. ✍🏻
A big part of that was being honest, authentic and standing in integrity.
That being said, I'm going to be honest and say there is not one solution for every woman. 🎯
We all react very differently to menopause. This is why it's been very hard to do studies and research on it because not one woman reacts exactly the same way. That's because we do have a different hormonal profile in our reproductive years then going into menopause transition.
But here are a few things you can start with that work well for most women:
✔️ Stress management
✔️ Workout regression with progression (there is a lot to unpack here)
✔️ Increase protein
✔️ Increase antioxidant intake
✔️ Improve gut health
The approach to all of these is going to be a different path for every woman.
This is a huge reason why women tend to notice this weight gain. We are highly affected by the decrease in hormones, especially at first. This causes symptoms that are going to hinder our movement and exercise as well as how we eat. 🫣
That's why you have to take a step back and realize that you have to start where you are again and work your way back up.
Be kinder to yourself. Be more patient. There are no quick fixes or hacks. You're going to have to listen to your body more and support it in a way that you never have before. 🫶🏻
You've got this and you aren't alone. Never forget that!! 🤗

Muscle, nerve, joint pain & poor recovery in The Menopause Transition can be tough to deal with. 😟
❌ It stops you from working out.
❌ It makes you feel broken.
❌ It makes you feel like your body is failing you.
❌ It drains you and causes fatigue.
❌ It affects how you look and feel. Low energy, low moods, immobile and defeated.
The first thing I did was take a big step back. I started writing down everything. When I felt something, the severity, what I was doing before, possible triggers, etc.
From there I was able to put together a plan that started where I currently was and that enabled me to build myself back up to where I am now. 💃🏻
I've been getting a lot of messages asking me about what I did in my journey so I'm going to put together a really amazing program at a very low cost that I'm going to be launching in the new year.
Keep an eye out for this because this is going to be your manual to feeling better in your body again I can guarantee you! 🎯
It will give you everything you need to know to help you through this and get you to the other side. 🙌🏻

Hi everyone! I hope you had an amazing weekend. I know I did.

I just wanted to give you an update on my Fab over 40 competition that I'm in.

Ended up being first in my group which brought me to the quarterfinals. I'm currently fourth in that position.
