Wow we are absolutely blown away by our clients 💜 Thank you Ingrid for your sweet words. We are so happy you felt supported during your experiences with . Posted • Appreciation post for International Midwives Day 💖
I’ve worked with pregnant and postpartum women for over 8 years as a pelvic health physio, and have heard a fair share of pregnancy journeys as well as birth stories. I knew when it was my time, I wanted the care of midwives for me and my baby.
Partly because I wanted to try for home births, because research shows better birth outcomes when you are in a safe and familiar environment. I’ve also heard positive home birth experiences from my clients!
But mostly because I know the midwives I check in with during my pregnancy will also be the ones I deliver with, and they will be with me during the entire birth (i.e. continuous labour care, no shift changes bringing in new ppl while you’re at your most vulnerable).
Even with high expectations of midwifery care, the ladies at have far exceeded them.
❤️ Check in appointments never feel rushed.
❤️ They give me all the information about tests, procedures and treatments so I can make an informed decision.
❤️ I can page them at any time if there was an emergency (for me or for baby).
❤️ During birth, there were only 3 people with me - two midwives and Ernest. Not a room full of unfamiliar people.
❤️ For the first 2-3 weeks postpartum, they came to my home to do the check ups on me and baby.
❤️ They really, truly care - about your physical and emotional health.
❤️ Both births with Avery and Riley went beautifully. It was a dream of mine to have a water birth with A. When it didn’t happen, I had largely given up on it for R. But my midwife, Joanna, gently made it happen, and it really was the best birth possible to me
With midwives, we are so lucky to be given the choice of where to birth and how to birth. And to have that choice is a privilege. Thank you to all the midwives
for your amazing care!
