This week has been designated as National Non-Smoking Week (NNSW) by the Canadian Council for To***co Control.
Wednesday 22nd January, 2025 is termed "Weedless Wednesday". It is a day that smokers are encouraged to avoid commercial to***co for one day to kick-start the process of quitting.
Commercial to***co is a major health hazard and an important economic commodity. If it were not harmful to health there would be no reason to control its use. The Big To***co companies have always found other ways to deceive the public and push their products.

Today, each major to***co company has its own e-cigarette brand on the market. Va**ng is growing at an alarming rate, especially among youth, there is a need to protect young people from encouragements to use ni****ne va**ng products.

Smoking decreases absorption of vitamin C and increases your body’s requirements for vitamin C by 30 percent. Vitamin C is one of natures’ most effective natural gifts to mankind from the creator to support your lungs’ health. Always remember to take eat your Vitamin C rich food!

In order to commemorate this week, the Northern Saskatchewan Breathe Easy has planned some activities in NITHA communities. Some of these activities include, but not limited to social media marketing, school presentations, community events/ awareness campaigns and the Vitamin C Immune booster campaign.

We will be hosting a poster contest this week on NSBE, NITHA, PAGC, MLTC, LLRIB and PBCN Facebook accounts and schools please be on the look out! There are lots of prizes to be won.
