🏬 The exhibition is now open to the public, Monday to Saturday 9am-3pm and is free to attend!

👶🏻 Any ‘Haddo Babies’ out there?!

🗣️ What a fascinating Aberdeen Talks lecture today from Professor George Youngson and Fiona Rennie, authors of ‘Bringing Life to Abedeen : A history of maternity and Neonatal Services.

🏥 They explored the history or midwifery in Aberdeen, the people and places that have led to current standards of delivery and care for mothers and their newborns, and how Aberdeen led the way for many decades. We also had an insight into the design of the new Baird Family Hospital at Foresterhill.

🥳 Delighted to welcome Small Stories by Gabrielle Reith to Charles Michies Union Street, Aberdeen

👩🏻‍🎨 Gabrielle is an artist, illustrator and maker based in Scotland. Her work is the magical world of ‘Small Stories’ where every piece tells a tale. She makes elaborate pen & ink drawings that evolve into beautiful stories based on her & her children’s imagination, infused with traditional tales.

🎨 A graduate of Gray’s School of Art, who has forged a successful career as an artist with work in collections worldwide. Her current collection includes wooden brooches, enamel pins, screen printed tea towels, screen printed apparel, decorations and cards.

🎁 All artworks and designs have been created by her at her studio in Aberdeen, Scotland. All products are produced in the UK, by as ethical and renewable a resource as can be found. If you would like any further information on materials and techniques then please do get in touch

We urgently need volunteer befrienders and mentors in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to step up and support local children.

Being a befriender or mentor isn’t about being perfect role model, it’s about showing up, being consistent, and offering encouragement and fun to a young person who’s life circumstances are challenging. 🥰

If you have a few hours to spare twice a month, you can give a child the chance to feel seen, heard, and supported. 💛

🥳 Phew! We feel like we’ve just about come back down to earth again after the official opening of our exhibition, 'The Art & Science of Pharmacy: 100 years of Charles Michies'.

The evening was a wonderful celebration and party hosted at our Union Street store marking 100 years at Michies and the launch of a co-ordinating display of pharmacy memorabelia, all expertly curated and interpreted by Lynne Clark.

Thank you to everyone who came along to share the moment with us 👏🏻

The exhibition is now open in our cafe Mon-Sat 9am-3pm and it’s free to visit.
