We offer our postboxes at all of our sites across the UK, so that everyone has the option to write to their loved ones.

Many of our locations across the UK will also be hosting Mother's Day events activities or services this week, giving you the chance and space to honour and remember your loved ones in a way that is uniquely personal to you.

A truly special farewell at Westerleigh Crematorium, honouring a lifelong Elvis Presley fan.

From the Elvis-themed coffin to the Cadillac Sedan de Ville, this unique send-off was a heartfelt tribute, complete with classic American Cadillacs and Elvis hits playing upon arrival. A beautiful and personal goodbye.

Mothers day can be a particularly difficult day if you have experienced the loss of a Mother, Mother figure or a child of any age. 🌹

As a way of honouring lost loved ones Aberystwyth Cemetery & Crematorium will be providing roses for you to either place in our memorial gardens or take home. These will be available from Thursday the 27th up until the 30th from our Book of Remembrance room. Cards will also be available for you to take home or post in our letters to loved ones post box on site. 📬

All are welcome to partake and please feel free to take time for contemplation in our beautiful grounds. 🌹

Today, on COVID-19 Memorial Day, we take a moment to reflect on the lives lost, the sacrifices made, and the strength of those who carried us through the darkest times.

For many, the pandemic brought unimaginable loss, isolation, and hardship. But it also showed the power of community, compassion, and resilience.

At each of our sites, a dedicated COVID-19 memorial stands in remembrance of those no longer with us and as a place for quiet reflection. 💙

Last week at Sirhowy Valley Crematorium, a gentleman who dedicated his life to working on buses took his final journey in a truly fitting way—aboard a beautifully restored 1972 Hills of Tredegar bus.

Driven by funeral director Paul Smith Vaughan Brothers, this touching tribute was a uniquely personal way to honour his life and legacy.

Fantastic service yesterday for a gentleman that worked on the buses. He arrived on his final journey on a 1972 Hills of Tredegar bus owned and driven by the funeral director Paul Smith of Vaughan Brothers.

Here at Westerleigh Group, we’re excited to celebrate our apprentices during National Apprentice Week ⭐

Ashley, Dylan, and Dan are all part of our Grounds Team, currently studying for their Level 2 Horticulture qualifications. They joined us with a strong passion for the field and valuable experience from previous roles but lacked the formal qualifications to support their expertise.

It’s been a pleasure for us as a business to invest in Ashley, Dylan, and Dan, and we look forward to seeing how their careers at Westerleigh Group continue to grow.

With a thoughtful design and a unique boat planter, kindly donated by a local family, this project beautifully reflects Torbay’s deep connection to the coastline🚢

After months of hard work, we’re proud to announce the opening of our newest Scottish site, Bishopbriggs Crematorium, offering exceptional care and support to bereaved families in the Greater Glasgow area.

Families who recently purchased memorials from us have not only honoured their loved ones but have also contributed to vital environmental efforts. Through these purchases, we have managed to donate an incredible £45,500 to World Land Trust (WLT).

This donation supports WLT’s mission to preserve endangered habitats, ensuring that legacies of remembrance extend far beyond grief to make a tangible, positive impact on the planet. These contributions are made possible through our metal recycling program, which transforms materials from cremation into funding for meaningful causes.

This National Grief Awareness Week, reflect on how memorials can serve a dual purpose: commemorating loved ones while fostering sustainability and hope for future generations.
