Some lovely news to share 🏆

The community allotment run by Regent College has been named the best in Newcastle-under-Lyme. Thanks to learners who care for the allotment alongside volunteers, it has placed 1st in the ‘Community Gardens – Groups’ category of Newcastle in Bloom 🥔🍓🍅

With the support of tutors, learners tend to the three vegetable and flower beds at Apedale Heritage Centre.

They have grown potatoes, pumpkins, strawberries, aubergines, and tomatoes from seed to harvest. These have been used in cooking sessions and sold at the Centre’s café. Learners have also made bird and butterfly feeders from old milk bottles.

Learners at Regent College love giving back to the community and helping those who need it. Their volunteering contributions to local charity, Walk Talk Action, have been praised by Labour MP for Stoke-on-Trent South, Dr Allison Gardner, during a recent visit 🥰
