Starting next Thursday 10th April, at Chelford Community Hub we have a new fitness class brought to you by Physiofit .

This is a later life physiotherapist fitness class from 1.30pm to 2.30pm and can be done standing or seated. It is £10 a class and spaces are limited to 10 people per class.

Last year, we started a pilot project offering patients tea and coffee without caffeine, and the initial findings were very positive.

Positive impacts of the pilot included a 75% reduction in falls on 2 wards, a 50% drop in care home falls, and a 40% reduction in overnight incontinence at the care home.

We have extended the scheme into 5 more wards, including in our community hospitals at Alnwick and Berwick. This project is running from January to March 2025.

Last week Colin Green Clinical Director interviewed Gaz a Sports Journalist who experienced a Traumatic Brain Injury as a result of an assault.

Gaz Carter and his wife, Gemma Carter, discussed their lives after the injury, both in the immediate aftermath and in the years that followed. This was an enlightening session designed to aid us, as brain injury rehabilitation professionals, in grasping the challenges and opportunities our clients face during the rehabilitation and legal processes.

Although the community fit for later life classes in Alderley and Prestbury are going ahead today, the Met office have released a yellow warning for wind and rain. Please do not travel to the class if you do not feel safe to do so.

🎄🎬 The piece, focussing on the collection's 25th anniversary and its incredible fundraising impact, is planned to air at 6:30 this evening. Don't miss it!

Physiofit later life classes at Prestbury Village Hall and Chorley Village Hall are going ahead today. It is warmer than yesterday, however please only attend if you feel it is safe for you to travel to the venues.

Physiofit at home services are now expanding their catchment area. We now cover Cheshire East and Greater Manchester! Our team of later life and neurology specialist physios are available to visit your loved ones at home or in their care home. We also offer fitness in later life classes in various locations and will be soon starting our Parkinsons class.
