Doing what I do best today…

Benign skin lesion removal!

Putting my Fiab cautery tool through its paces today.

These are not covered on the NHS as they’re classed as cosmetic. Most patients seek me out privately as I am Clinical Lead for Dermatology and Minor Surgery covering four GP practices in the local area.

If you have any skin concerns, or a lesion you want removing, come find me at The Four B’s in Brightlingsea.

I’ll either improve your confidence, reassure your fears or save your life.

This lady had a non-cancerous but ugly looking lesion on her left jawline. It was really bothering her from a cosmetic point of view. This is a seborrhoeic keratosis, with some filiform elements to it, so possibly a mixture of an SK and a papilloma. To be honest I wasn’t looking forward to removing it as they do bleed during the procedure. At her two week review to say she’s beyond happy is an understatement. I used plasma fibroblast to zap away at the lesion and fully expected to have to re-treat the base with cryotherapy. But much to my surprise (and relief 😮‍💨) the lesion was fully healed with no residual abnormal cells. If you have a benign lesion that won’t be removed on the NHS but is unsightly and bothering you get in contact. Either DM me or book with the salon.

Seborrhoeic Keratosis removal using Before and after just two sessions. Further session today to make sure any remaining cells are “blasted” to stop it growing back. If you have any troubling skin lesions please book a consultation with me, Rachel An initial dermatology consultation to look at worrying lesions is only £75 and this includes any dermatoscopic images being taken that can be sent to your GP via secure email. Not much for peace of mind. I can also remove benign lesions such as the one pictured. A single cryotherapy session is £75 and a course of three sessions £175. DM me or call the salon to book your consultation. I look forward to seeing you 🩷

Beautiful flowers from a grateful client and his wife. Came to see me for a routine benign skin lesion on his face, happened to mention that he had lots of “moles” on his back. As part of our dermatology service I checked his back for anything “nasty” and I found the “ugly duckling”. These are the lesions that don’t look like all the rest. I emailed his GP on a Saturday afternoon and he came back to me immediately. His wife was shocked as this lesion was so tiny she’d not noticed it. Three weeks on and the lesion has been removed by the NHS and we’re awaiting the histology report. Fingers crossed it’s benign. Collaborative working at its best. If you have any concerns regarding any lesions, even if you don’t want to get them removed, I’m more than happy to take a look. Book either direct with me or through the salon and let me put your mind at rest. *Oh and he was super-happy with the result of the removal from his face 🫶🏼
