Starlight Ultrasound offers diagnostic pregnancy scans including the anatomy scan, also known as the anomaly scan, which is the equivalent of the NHS 20-week scan.

The recommended gestation for this scan to be performed is between 18 weeks and 20+6 weeks but for various reasons it can be 20-22 weeks for most people to have their NHS appointment so we can offer the anatomy scan from 18 weeks.

Very often people choose to book an anatomy scan at Starlight prior to their NHS scan because they can attend with friends and/or family and have the scan in a comfortable and reassuring environment.

The NHS 20-week scan is offered to all pregnant women but it is optional.

It is an important and detailed scan assessing baby for certain conditions as well as elements of their anatomy including their heart, brain, spinal cord and kidneys.

Online booking for the fetal anatomy scan is available 24/7 via our website.

Starlight Ultrasound offers Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) which is available from 10 weeks into pregnancy.

It can be performed at any gestation from 10 weeks with no cut-off point and is suitable for singleton and twin pregnancies, and those conceived naturally as well as IVF pregnancies.

The service includes an ultrasound scan, as well as a blood test, ensuring the pregnancy is dated correctly because there won't be sufficient fetal DNA to obtain a result prior to 10 weeks.

There is a choice of two NIPT brands, details of which are shown on our website and for which leaflets can be sent by email.

Turnaround times for both are 2-4 working days and both tests can include confirmation of gender at no extra cost.

Booking is available online 24/7 and the NIPT is available at both clinic locations.

Did you know Starlight offers a couple of special deals for 5D scans on a Tuesday at our clinic in Bury?

Our Bronze 5D Scan which is a digital only scan is available every Tuesday in Bury with our Queen of the 5D, Jade!

You can still purchase colour 5D pictures on the day but it is only digital images and video reels that are included as standard.

But the digital pack has no limit on the number of images captured.

We also offer our Silver 5D Scan at a reduced price on Tuesdays in Bury. The Silver 5D Scan includes the digital pack as standard along with 6 colour pictures and/or keyrings.

The fastest and easiest way to book a special offer 5D Scan is via our website but bookings can also be made over the phone, in clinic or via social media. In all cases a £25 non-refundable deposit is payable on booking with the balance payable in clinic on the day of your appointment.

Starlight Ultrasound is a diagnostic clinic offering ultrasound scans at every gestation throughout pregnancy.

We offer early pregnancy scans from as early as five weeks and we've even had people attend growth scans as late as the same day they were going in to deliver!

That means no matter what stage of pregnancy, there is a scan appropriate to your circumstances.

Early viability scans can be taken as often as required between five and 13 weeks and gender scans are available from 13 weeks onwards, with lower pricing available from 14 weeks.

We recommend our 5D bonding scans around 28 weeks but you can book one at any gestation after then without us ever imposing a cut-off date.

And wellbeing, reassurance and growth scans can be taken whenever required should you have any concerns or you just want to see baby again.

All appointments can be booked online 24 / 7 or over the phone 7 days a week 9:30am-7pm

A men's general medical ultrasound scan at Starlight assesses abdominal organs such as the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, urinary bladder, the condition of the aorta as well as the prostate.

It is suitable for investigating gallstones, kidney stones, polyps and liver disease.

Appointments for men's abdominal ultrasound scans can be made online 24/7 and are available at both clinic locations.

There's no need for a referral and written reports are provided the same day.

You can find out baby’s gender at your appointment or leave without anyone present knowing. Don’t worry we’ll always check with you at the start of your appointment.

Confetti cannons, gender reveal balloons and scratch cards are all ways you can reveal your baby’s gender.

We can also give you a sealed envelope with baby’s gender written inside if you need to give it to a party planner or cake maker!

Overindulged over Christmas and wondering about the state of your liver?

Without the need for a GP or specialist referral, you can have a full abdominal scan with Starlight to check your liver, kidneys, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen and/or urinary bladder.

You’ll receive a written report the same day as your appointment, which will be confirmation of what you’re told during the scan.

Men can also have their prostate assessed, whilst women can include a pelvis examination to assess their uterus and ovaries.

Starlight Ultrasound will be open over the Festive Period including Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve with most standard services available to book as normal.

Men's, women's and children's medical scans, blood tests and fertility scans are available but due to shorter working hours on certain days, we have a range of special Festive Gender Reveal Scans to ensure we can accommodate everyone who wants to find out baby's gender on Christmas day.

Emergency scans may be available on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and/or New Year's Day - call or message should any urgent service be required.
