❌❌Dear Patient - All GP practices in East Lancashire will be closed on Thursday 3rd April 2025 from 13:00 hours to 18:30hours for protected learning time.❌❌

This enables practices to provide dedicated training to their staff and to discuss and plan ways that will allow them to improve services, meet demand and support the wellbeing of staff.
For all life-threatening medical emergencies during this time, please call 999. Other provisions are in place for non-emergencies, so please call NHS 111.
There is a minor injuries unit located at The Acorn Centre Accrington and Rossendale Primary health care centre.
Urgent Care centres at both Burnley General and Royal Blackburn Hospital.
Emergency department at Royal Blackburn hospital.
For all routine requests for results, appointments, prescriptions and general enquiries, we will be open as usual from 8am the following morning

The ICB Lancashire and South Cumbria Women’s Health Programme is conducting a survey aimed at all women across the LSC footprint to understand and gather women’s views on support for women’s health issues, where women’s health hubs should be located, how they could be accessed, and any barriers.

We would really like to capture thoughts from our female residents about Women’s Health Hubs located in the community and in relation to an online Women’s Health Hub.

🫁 Lung Cancer Awareness 🫁

From 1 February 2025, following research recommending the change, the Targeted Lung Health Check (TLHC) Programme will be known as the Lung Cancer Screening Programme.
The Lung Cancer Screening Programme aims to find lung cancer earlier, often before symptoms develop. So far, lung cancer screening has diagnosed over 5,500 people with lung cancer, over 75% of which were found at an early stage (1 or 2). This compares to less than 30% found at an early stage outside of screening.
