A slightly gray start this Friday, but that didn't deter our walkers. Goodrington was the destination for this weeks walk, and we had a fantastic turnout.

This past Friday, our walkers went to the harbour. It was a lovely day, and spring is definitely on its way, as a lot of the flower beds by the cinema and in the park opposite have started to have new flowers in them.

This week, our walkers were back at Oldway. Navigating the barriers erected for the ongoing work, we soon found ourselves in the gardens. Even in the current situation, the volunteer gardeners are doing a fantastic job, and we were able to enjoy some newly planted flowers.

This week, our walkers went to the harbour, via Victoria Park and the sea front. There was a cold breeze, but this was balanced by the beautiful sunshine. A number of new faces were a welcome addition!

This week, our walkers are back! In stark contrast to the rain last week, we had a beautiful sunny day. The group went to Goodrington, then back via the gardens and Paignton Harbour. This pushed our distance to 3 miles, one of the longest we have ever done.

This week, our walkers took a slightly shorter route. Cutting out Paignton harbour, we walked along the sea front and came back through town.
Despite the weather, it was lovely to see the group still turn up and push through the wind and rain, making it back for our well-deserved hot drink!

This past Friday, our walkers went to Paignton Harbour. We had a few more than last week, and it looks like they enjoyed a lovely day for the time of year.

This past Friday, our walkers went to the Harbour, via Victoria Park and the seafront. Some dramatic pictures of the sea as storm Eowyn approached.
Our gentle wellbeing walks are great for gentle exercise and socialising, with a free hot drink after!

This week our walkers went to Oldway Mansion. It was lovely to see work starting on one of the jewels in Paigntons crown. We had a very good attendance, and the dogs were Happy too!

Our first walk of this year was Goodrington, where a number of us braved the winter weather for a stroll and a light conversation. We then headed back to Gaia Coffee for our hot drink, and I must say we missed the good natured group over the Christmas break.

Our last walk of the year, was a slightly longer one. The sponsored Santa Stroll saw us go through Victoria Park, across Paignton sea front, and then back to Winner Street via the big tree.
Don't worry, we'll be back Friday 10th January, for our first walk of the year!
We would like to especially thank those who donated, and those that helped raise money.
So, to all our walkers, readers and well wishers, have a very merry Christmas, and an exceptionally happy new year!

This week our walkers took a small walk around Victoria Park. The route was decided based on still wanting to walk, but the weather was quite dark and cold.
We saw the swans in the pond, and the cygnets are now almost fully grown. We returned via Torbay Road, and on return, enjoyed our welcome free hot drink.
Next week will be our final walk of the year, and also, our sponsored santa stroll, in which we will don festive santa hats, to raise money for Gaia Coffee's suspended coffee scheme, which provides the free coffee for the walking group, and other groups that operate out of Gaia.

The Winner Street Walkers, our local wellbeing walk group, recently embarked on a delightful journey from Goodrington to Paignton Harbour. This scenic route offered breathtaking views of the coastline, with the sound of waves gently lapping against the shore providing a soothing soundtrack to their steps. The group relished the opportunity to reconnect with nature, engage in light-hearted conversations, and enjoy the benefits of gentle exercise. Their trip culminated in Paignton Harbour, where the picturesque surroundings and vibrant atmosphere made for a perfect end to their walk.

This past Friday, our walkers went to Goodrington. Not letting a grey sky hold us back, we had a wonderful walk, and the chill made us enjoy the hot drink on return even more!

This week our walkers went through Victoria Park, and by consensus, extended onto the harbour. As you can see, we went through the Geopark, where the young (and young at heart), spent some extra time!

This past Wednesday, our walkers ventured out on our second big monthly walk. Catching the bus to Dartington, and walking through the Cider Press to Totnes. The weather turned out beautiful, and we stopped for a coffee and a pastry when we got to Totnes. Many thanks to Dea and Lia for their photos, please forgive me for not using them all, but we had 156 in total! We will post details of future monthly walks as we have them.

Yesterday 7 of us went on a day trip to Dawlish Warren on the train, we walked along the sea wall back to Dawlish where we had lunch. After lunch we walked over to Coryton Cove & bought coffee from The Cove Cafe At Coryton Cove Dawlish before catching the train back to Paignton.
