Another fantastic weekend with Pegasus Ultra Running Rhys Jenkins Cerys Jones Chris Hewett with a wonderful diverse group of runners in the Welsh mountains!
When you get to do all the things you love and are passionate about, to share and encourage people to make small changes in their daily lives which will help towards their self care, life management and finding joy, then I am all in!
Thanks again to Paul Richards and HealthScape CIC Torbay for the loan of the spas and dry robes, don’t they look picture perfect on the side of the mountain!

Today marks the start of a 49-week running & strength training programme!

June 2025 I will take on the Epona 100

🏃 100 miles
⛰️ summit 23 Welsh peaks 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
📈 accumulative elevation gain 17500ft - that’s the same as going from base camp to the summit of Mount Everest.

Cut off 50hrs - my modest goal 35hrs - my grit goal 24hrs!

I will be raising money for a collective of CICs (details to be posted soon)

If you don’t think you can meditate or feel you could never do the ‘cold water thing’ I promise you will surprise yourself, learn new techniques and take away practical tips to incorporate what you ah e learnt into your every day life.

At the weekend I returned to my homeland of Wales, to the stunning mountains, to run meditation, breathwork and icebath sessions for 45 fabulous female runners from She Runs: Cardiff.

What an incredible weekend. The workshops were received brilliantly with enthusiasm, open minds and humour.

For those who thought they could never meditate, they learnt they really could.

For those who felt that breathing to calm down never worked for them, they learnt it really does.

And for those who thought they could never get into a cold ice bath, well guess what…they did!

As a runner myself, with a love of all things ultra, I was also able to enjoy the amazing talks by two fabulous women:
Allie Bailey - she really does know her stuff. And she really can run! She also has the sweetest dog called Pickle who loves to run with her! I’m currently reading her book ‘There Is No Wall’. Highly recommend, even if you are not interested in running. Just read it - you’ll see what I mean.
Nikki Love - she too really can run! The whole way across Australia!!! Seriously, she is an inspiration and the sweetest person.

Burying your head in the sand? We all do it: health, finance, work, relationships. Whether it’s a task needs doing, an issue needs addressing, best thing is address it now, because the stress that sits in you subconsciously while your head is buried in the sand is still impacting on your every day self. So act now. A small step or a full blown rip off the plaster (I would go for the latter) and start releasing that stress. Reality is happening regardless, so do you want to be in control or at the mercy of it?!

I absolutely love what I do! ❤️

Even more so when I get to work alongside likeminded people and organisations, who are focused on providing and accessing resources that will ultimately help those who need them.

When you listen to Gary Martin and Georgie brown talk about the journey and growth of over the last year, it is absolutely inspiring to see what has been achieved with the resourcefulness and vision of a handful of people. 🌱

Last year I was privileged to be brought in to the network through the ever-connected Paul Richards , enabling me to run meditation, breathwork and icebath sessions and workshops for members of the public and health sector workers. 🧘 🧊

Yesterday, I got to run a private session for Olivia Crisp and Sophie Moore. They were visiting Shekinah to meet those who were going to be utilising the funding they were providing. Thanks to their generous donation of £2000, we can purchase whiskey barrel ice-baths and build a shelter for the ice-bath experience!

They bravely stepped into baths with temperatures at 6 C ❄️ and used the meditation and breathwork skills, taught to them in the lead-up session, to overcome the urge to jump straight back out again!

They were brilliant! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

We are very excited to see what growth Shekinah Grow takes on this year, as we emerge from hibernation and step into the hopeful spring. ☀️ 🌺

Another opportunity to demonstrate and share a little of what I do! This time for the Torbay Business Network event. A great group of people all sharing and making connections to support one another.

Great to see familiar faces and meet new contacts too. There was a real buzz about the room this morning.

Thank you to the RNLI Torbay for my certificate and Silver Sponsorship. I am privileged to have had the chance to raise money for such an amazing cause.

The weather may have been grim, but we got to sit with coffee and biscuits, and chat about the amazing challenges everyone has completed to raise money for the Torbay RNLI.

Roll on the next ones for 2024 when they celebrate 200 years!! I reckon there’s going to be something quite big going on for that!

I have experienced every one of these emotions so far this week! In fact, quite a few of them occurred in the space of a day!

Take a moment to reflect…
🤔 Which have you noticed so far?
🤔 What intensity were they experienced: fleeting? noticeable? intense?
🤔Did you consciously do anything to influence them or change them?

💡We are more capable of managing the emotions we experience than we are led to believe.
💡They may feel like they creep up on us ninja-style, and hijack our rational selves, but with training we can intercept and manage them far better.

⏰Pause for a moment and think about this…

How different would your day be, your LIFE be, if you could increase happiness, accept and manage challenging emotions, and be more responsive rather than reactive to everything that the world bombards you with??

Either you answered:
✅ Amazing, but seriously?? That’s impossible!
✅Amazing!! Tell me more now!!
✅Amazing!! But there’s no way I can do that, if I told you what my life was like you would see that achieving that would just not work for me blah blah blah!

Well, whichever one you are, I can tell you that if you genuinely give it a chance, you will genuinely start to notice the change.
For some it is a lightbulb moment.
For some it is a subtle change they become aware of.
But for all, it is a positive change that they are relieved to have discovered!

Powerful Pit Stops

“Wellbeing? Mindfulness? It’s just another plate to spin. I haven’t got time to fit it in!” ⏰

The racing driver aims to finish the race in their fastest time possible, ideally in first position. 🏁

Our lives can be a bit like this…

Sometimes our goals get in our way. We are so driven by the next thing on our to-do list that getting there is the ultimate focus. 🎯

This is why, when someone suggests taking a moment, we hear, “I haven’t got time! I’ll take my moment when I’m finished!” ✅

Racing drivers have to come in to the pit stops. No matter how much they would love to keep zooming around to the finish, they know that the quick checks and refuels will enable them to get there successfully and quicker! ⏱️

These stops have been practiced to perfection, so they are easy to implement.

With training and practice, the skills of checking in on yourself and doing what’s needed to refuel becomes second nature.

The aim is noticing physical sensations, emotions and thoughts, then deciding how to proceed with this awareness.

So, here are a few suggestions for pit stops:

✅ boil the kettle ⏱️focus on your breathing 🤔 short shallow breath? Why? What can you do to change it?
✅ waiting (standing or sitting)⏱️ quick body scan from feet to head 🤔 any discomfort? What can you do to shift this?
✅ cleaning your teeth ⏱️ focus on your thoughts 🤔 without getting sucked into them, just notice what thoughts are occurring. How are they making you feel? Any truth in them? Do you need to act on them or let them go?

Make it your intention to build in as many pit stops as possible today. What will your pitstops be? Let me know how you get on with them.
