Residents from Court Lodge recently visited The Honeypot Children's Charity in the New Forest to learn more about their 2025 charity of the year.

The group toured Honeypot House, where the charity’s mission to support young carers aged 5-12 through respite breaks and services began over 25 years ago.

“We could imagine the children running around the grounds. It really opened our eyes to how much they do for them,” said Anne.

After donating £1,617.00 in 2024, Court Lodge is aiming to raise more this year, starting with a children’s Easter Egg Hunt on 15th April.

The team at Linden House in Lymington had a fantastic afternoon hosting Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW's Musical Moments.

Residents enjoyed entertainment from the talented Kevin Pritchard on the piano, featuring songs from The Sound of Music, classical favourites, and a lively sing-along.

There was even some dancing, with Customer Service Advisor Lynne showing off some Strictly-worthy moves! The afternoon ended on a sweet note with tea and sublime cupcakes freshly made by our chefs.

When Irene ‘Rene’ Fisher turned 101 at Avon Cliff Care Home in Bournemouth, she had one request: “Let’s all go to the pub!” 🍺

So, the team transformed the home’s café into Chez Rene, a cosy old-style pub where residents, family, and friends could join in the celebrations.

With bar snacks, drinks, and a lively singalong of Happy Birthday , Rene enjoyed every moment, especially her favourite tipple, sherry. 🥂🎶

A Well-Deserved Honour for Ula 🎖️✨

102-year-old Ula Rigg, a veteran of the wartime Auxiliary Fire Service, has been officially recognised for her bravery during the Bristol Blitz. In a surprise ceremony at Braemar Lodge, Ula was presented with the WWII Defence Medal for her role in Civil Defence, ensuring vital fire service communications under extreme conditions.

Surrounded by family, fellow residents, and fire service personnel, Ula reflected on the moment: "I’m going to remember this for the rest of my life."

Our homes were alive with music, laughter, and plenty of green as residents celebrated St Patrick’s Day earlier this week! ☘️💚 From Irish dancing to themed feasts, there was fun at every turn.

At Canford Chase, a pop-up pub brought residents together for an afternoon of tunes, laughter, and reminiscing. Meanwhile, at Abbey View, a hearty Irish breakfast was served, and at St Catherines View, residents enjoyed an interactive tour of Cork before an afternoon of dancing and shimmering green drinks.

A huge thank you to our teams for making the celebrations so special! 🍀🎶

Residents at Brook View Care Home in West Moors welcomed Malcolm to lead a Biodanza session, using music and movement for a fun and active experience.

Biodanza, known as the ‘Dance of Life,’ is a structured programme that encourages gentle exercise through rhythm and expression. With maracas and drumsticks in hand, residents joined in with the beats, stretching, swaying, and engaging with the music.

A great way to stay active while trying something new!

At The Aldbury Dementia Care Home in Poole, Roxy the dog has become a regular visitor, coming in twice a week alongside the home's hairdresser, Candy. Her visits are always a highlight for residents and staff alike.

Roxy enjoys playing fetch around the home, keeping residents engaged as she chases her tennis ball through rooms, corridors, lounges, and even the garden.

Roxy’s visits are always appreciated, bringing a friendly atmosphere and lots of smiles wherever she goes. We’re grateful for the positive impact she has on our residents.

We've reached an exciting milestone at Braemar Lodge in Salisbury, as the first phase of our expansion is now complete.

Residents have moved into our brand-new extension, designed to enhance comfort and quality of life. This marks the first step in a wider redevelopment, with a full refurbishment of the original home now underway.

To celebrate, residents, families, and our team came together for a housewarming party, enjoying canapés, Prosecco, and live music.

We’re proud to be investing in the future of elderly care in Salisbury and look forward to completing the project later this year.

Fernhill Dementia Care Home in Ferndown had some very special visitors as Wendy from Alpaca Adventures brought along her wonderful alpacas once again! 🦙💛

Buddy, the wise old dark alpaca, and Caramac, the youngest of the group, charmed residents, families, and staff alike.

The alpacas made their way all around the home, even taking a ride in the lift to visit residents in their rooms! Their visit was enjoyed by everyone, including Buddy and Caramac, who lapped up plenty of cuddles and strokes on their soft necks and bellies. ✨

Residents at Fernhill Dementia Care Home enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with a visit from Ferndown Fire Station. The visit, inspired by conversations with staff, brought back memories for those who had connections to the fire service.

The fire crew shared insights into their daily work, explained equipment, and even gave residents a closer look at the fire engine. Residents had the chance to sit in the driver’s seat, try on helmets, and chat with the crew over a delicious buffet.

A huge thank you to Ferndown Fire Service for making this visit possible and for taking the time to visit the home. 🚒

From romantic surprises to gestures of friendship, our care homes across Dorset, Hampshire, West Sussex and Wiltshire have been embracing the spirit of Valentine’s Day.

🌹 At Brook View Care Home in West Moors, residents Pam and Trevor, along with care team couple Shadreck and Laetitia, were treated to surprise gifts during a special Tea & Togetherness afternoon. With a rose between his teeth, Trevor even sparked a little extra romance, much to Pam’s amusement.

🌸 At Amberwood House Care Home in Ferndown, the children of team members handed out roses with messages about love and friendship, bringing smiles all around.

There were also themed lunches, creative activities, and even a ‘picnic on the love bus’ for Abbey View residents enjoying the views from Bulbarrow Hill.

Centenarian Anne Burchell was surprised by three serving RAF nurses on her milestone birthday at Court Lodge care home in Lymington. The surprise, arranged by Anne's granddaughter, allowed Anne to reminisce with the nurses about her time as an RAF Nursing Officer.

Anne, who served with the RAF from 1947, was delighted to see the nurses in uniform and compare the past and present of RAF nursing. Her celebrations continued with a lunch at The Haven in Lymington and a special treat arranged by our team at The Captains Club Hotel.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make Anne’s 100th birthday truly memorable! 🎉💐

Yesterday, we took part in Time to Talk Day, the nation’s biggest mental health conversation, run by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness.

This day encourages people to come together to talk, listen, and change lives by making conversations about mental health a normal part of everyday life.

Across our homes, we created spaces where colleagues, residents, and visitors could share their thoughts and experiences. We set up quiet corners, used prompt cards to spark meaningful discussions, and held reflection sessions, giving everyone a chance to talk about how they were feeling. Positive boards and ‘happiness trees’ also helped encourage connection.

These small moments made a big impact, with one team even requesting to make these conversations a regular part of their month.

It’s a powerful reminder of how taking time to listen and really connect can make a significant difference in supporting mental health.

At St Catherines View Dementia Care Home, the weekly choir club is a highlight for many residents.

Led by our music and arts partner Fiona, each session begins with gentle warmups before residents sing along to well-loved classics like Que Sera Sera and Catch a Falling Star. With props such as pom poms and colourful scarves, the sessions are interactive, engaging and full of energy.

The club has been a wonderful way to bring residents together, building confidence and encouraging everyone to take part, whether singing, moving or simply enjoying the lively atmosphere.

We believe every meal should look as good as it tastes, no matter the texture. Our talented chefs create beautifully presented dishes, with adapted versions for those who need softer foods.

Many assume that modified meals are difficult to present in an appetising way, but with a little creativity, they can be just as appealing. Shaping tools and colourful purées make all the difference, just like in a fine dining restaurant!

Here’s Sunday’s special from Brook View Care Home, alongside its soft and bite sized version, carefully prepared for those who need an easier to eat meal:

- Pan-fried rainbow trout
- Roasted potatoes
- Wilted spinach
- Watercress salsa
