Have you recently received a letter or email naming a school or setting for your child or young person and it is not the setting you wanted? Do you have questions about how special school placements are allocated? Are you thinking of requesting a change of setting for your child? We invite you to join us for an informal chat. ☕️

The department of education is seeking views on proposals which position unregistered alternative provision as an intervention, not a destination, to complement education in school.

They propose that all unregistered alternative provision will be subject to new proportionate quality assurance frameworks, underpinned by national standards.

Torbay Council are one of three employers taking part in the Jump into Apprenticeships project, starting in April and May.

Students finishing sixth form can apply for a week's work placement with a leading Torbay employer alongside learning employability skills at South Devon College, with view to starting a higher or degree apprenticeship.

ℹ️ Torbay Council will offer time with their HR, Spatial Planning and Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS) with the opportunity to get know the types of roles and industries within the Council and to be involved and have your say on creative projects.

Project is in partnership with the Devon, Plymouth, and Torbay Careers Hub.

Applications are open until Wednesday 10th April with interviews held on 15th and 16th April.
