The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is observed annually on 21 March since declared by the United Nations in 1966.

Are you due your smear test?

📆 Leamington PCN is hosting a drop-in clinic on Saturday 10th May for anyone due their cervical screening appointment.

🧫 Cervical screening, which used to be called smear test, is a test to check the health of the cervix and help prevent cervical cancer. It's offered to women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 64.

🧬Cervical screening checks the health of your cervix and helps find any abnormal changes before they can turn into cancer.

The Minor Injuries Unit at Stratford Hospital is open today, Tuesday 4th March.

The Unit at Stratford can treat sprains and strains, broken bones, wound infections, minor burns and scalds, minor head injuries, minor eye injuries, animal bites and injuries to the back, shoulder and chest.

This unit is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays every week, between 9am-5pm. Waiting times at Minor Injuries are often significantly reduced compared to the Emergency Department.

If you've received your smear invite, you can walk in without an appointment between 9am and 1pm at Waterside Medical Centre.

This time of year can be a difficult time for many of us. The short darker days can impact on our mood and wellbeing. Many of us spend less time outdoors during the winter months and we are more likely to pick up viral winter illnesses.

The good news is that brighter days are coming! Spring is a great time to start getting outside more frequently and spend time in nature. Gardening and spring cleaning give us a boost of dopamine and spending time in sunlight increases serotonin in our brains which improves our mood.
