Parents, don't forget that there's still room to participate in our reading event being held tomorrow evening, and we would love for you to join us. Many found the pervious event very insightful on how to get the most out of reading to your kiddos! You can sign-up at the Center. Here's what to expect:

1. **Understanding the Power of Interactive Reading:**
Teachers will explain the importance of active participation during reading sessions, illustrating how it enhances comprehension, vocabulary development, and emotional connection with stories. Families will gain insights into why reading is more than just words on a page—it's an opportunity to create lasting memories and developmental milestones.

2. **Demonstration of Techniques:**
Through live demonstrations, educators will showcase engaging reading strategies such as asking open-ended questions, encouraging predictions, using expressive voices, and incorporating gestures. Parents will learn how to make reading time a fun and interactive experience that draws their child into the story.

3. **Collaborative Practice:**
Families will have the opportunity to practice these techniques in small groups or one-on-one with their own child, with the teacher offering guidance and feedback. This allows caregivers to build confidence in their ability to turn everyday reading into an enriching and dynamic experience.

4. **Q&A and Resource Sharing:**
The workshop will conclude with an open discussion where families can ask questions and share their own experiences. Teachers will provide resources such as book recommendations, interactive reading guides, and tips for making reading a consistent part of daily routines at home.

"Ensuring the air quality in your home is crucial, especially when you have young children. Indoor air can be more polluted than outdoor air due to various factors, and poor air quality can significantly affect your family’s health. By taking proactive steps, you can create a healthier living environment that promotes well-being." – Anya Willis

In 1926, Carter G. Woodson, known as “the Father of Black History” and founder of the Association for the Study of Negro Life (now the Association for the Study of African American Life and History) launched “Negro History Week” to encourage the study of African American history and celebrate the accomplishments of African Americans. Almost a century later, we’re still seeing a blatant absence of Black history and culture in textbooks and curriculums. But why? Black History doesn’t just encourage an appreciation and understanding of African American culture. It also closes the knowledge gap for all age groups and ethnicities. Until African American history is fully included in the American history curriculum of elementary, secondary, and postsecondary schools, Woodson’s vision will remain unfulfilled.

Teaching children the value of saving money is a crucial lesson that can set the stage for lifelong financial responsibility. Not only does a piggy bank serve as an exciting interactive tool, it also helps instil the importance of planning ahead, money management and thinking deeply about purchases.

Many young children do not understand that anger and other strong feelings are normal. Child care providers need to help children understand that feeling angry is normal, and that there are appropriate ways to deal with that anger. Avoid telling children not to feel angry. Emotions are a normal part of human life. Pretending that anger does not exist teaches children to suppress or ignore their emotions and may lead to later problems in handling anger appropriately.
