The FY26 budget proposal cuts $2.2 million from the Therapeutic Child Care Program, which provides critical early support for children with significant disabilities and medical complexities. Initially believed to be an error, we now know this cut was intentional due to budget constraints—putting vital services at risk!

ACTION ALERT: This year's budget proposal contained a cut in funding for the Therapeutic Child Care Program, which children with significant disabilities and medical complexities and their families rely on to give them a head start in life. The FY26 draft budget is short $2.2 million to level-fund it with last year, leaving the services of these children in trouble! Initially, we were informed this was an error, likely to be fixed through the supplemental budget process, but have since learned this cut was purposeful, in light of our state's tough budget position.
