Minimal Invasive Hammertoe repair to help heal a diabetic ulcer. 12 days post op right great toe. Fixed with a poke incision to the tendon on the bottom of the toe under local anesthesia in my office. Straight toe now!

MEDICARE ADVANTAGE IN THE NEWS
Nearly Half of Health Systems are Considering Dropping Medicare Advantage Plans

"Onerous" authorization requirements and high denial rates have health systems considering whether to drop Medicare Advantage plans, according to a report from the Healthcare Financial Management Association and Eliciting Insights. "HFMA Health System CFO Pain Points Study 2024" is based on a survey of 135 health system CFOs conducted in January.

According to the report, 16% of health systems are planning to stop accepting one or more Medicare Advantage plans in the next two years. Another 45% said they are considering the same but have not made a final decision.

Just a 6 month follow up on this diabetic’s Tailors bunionectomy to fix the bunion and heal the ulcer. The floating metatarsal osteotomy that I like to perform with a little notch in the bone cut to secure the osteotomy from truly floating away..

Healing nicely but patient back in medium width shoes which is a no no because other foot is still wide! 🤦‍♀️

Some of the more flexible mallet and hammer toe deformities can be corrected with a simple cut of a tendon on the bottom of the toe. This procedure is called a "flexor tentomy" and can be done in the office under local anesthesia.
