The announcement we know you’ve all been waiting for 🥁🥁🥁

Midwife Grace and her husband Noah welcomed baby Johnny in their home on the coldest night of the year, with Brenda, Acadia and Danielle all in attendance. 💙👶

Weight: 8 pounds 14 ounces
Length: 22 inches
Head: 14 inches

Everyone is doing well and Grace will be taking the next few months off to settle into motherhood.

Colostrum! The first form of breastmilk produced by the body after giving birth, colostrum is high in antibodies and antioxidants that help strengthen and build baby’s immune system! It is super nutrient-dense, and is the perfect food for baby the first few days of their life. Did you collect any colostrum prenatally, or do you plan to? Have you ever noticed any colostrum leaking towards the end of pregnancy?

Home birth midwifery and wellcare for families in Maine

S**opee Valley Birthing Services

was born in 1994 and is now collectively managed by four midwives. Brenda Surabian, Lindsay Bushnell, Jodie Kaufman and Robin Illian share the responsibility equally which allows us to make midwifery sustainable for our families and provide you with experienced, client centered care.

The practice name describes the the Abenaki lands of the S**o and Ossipee River Valley where the practice started. We are grateful to be able to visit with our clients at one of our home offices near the confluence of the S**o and Ossipee Rivers. This area is peaceful, yet powerful...as birth is.
