Happy Left Handers Day! Here are a few quick facts about left handers, aside from the terrible fact that they fight pencil marks on the side of their palms ✏️

• Living in a right-handed world poses challenges with tools and tasks designed for right-handed individuals. Curse Scissors✂️& spiral notebooks📒

• Left-handers may excel in sports like boxing, tennis, and baseball and have an advantage in typing due to the layout of the qwerty keyboard.

• Specialized left-handed tools such as scissors and pens are available — but finding these could be a challenge!

• Approximately half of cats are left-handed like some people.

• Left Handers Day was established in 1976 to celebrate left-handers.

UV Safety month is celebrated in July, raising awareness of how important it is to protect yourself from harmful UV rays. A few ways to protect yourself: Stay in the shade, especially between 10 AM and 4 PM when the sun is most intense. Cover up; Wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and a hat to protect your skin and face. Wear sunglasses; Sunglasses that block UV rays can protect your eyes and the skin around them; Apply sunscreen and/or sunblock. Speak to your doctor about what's best for you and be sure to reapply often!

Marjorie has been with the Belvedere Commons family for almost 2 years. She has 4 kids, 10 grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She loves hanging out with family and other residents, playing bingo, dice games, and crafts.
