🚩This 4 March 2026, we’re asking all Australians to stand with surf lifesavers.

Red & Yellow Day is a national celebration of the volunteers who patrol our beaches, prevent emergencies, and save lives. Let’s show up for them!

Bring your schools, workplaces, and communities together to show support. Wear red and yellow.
Donate or fundraise if you can. Always swim between the flags

Together, we can help our lifesaving service thrive and turn the tide on coastal drownings.
Because when you back us, you help save lives too. ❤️💛

🚩 Headed to the beach this long weekend? Data shows that the coastal drowning risk increases 3.3x on public holidays and long weekends!

To help you stay safe:
💛 Swim at a patrolled beach between the red & yellow flags
❤️ Always supervise children in, on and around water
💛 Check the conditions and beach safety signs when you arrive
❤️ Avoid alcohol and drugs around water

Visit www.beachsafe.org.au to find out when and where the flags are up.

Today is a National Day of Mourning. Today we honour the victims of the Bondi Beach terrorist attack and remember the heroism of the first responders.

We encourage all Surf Life Saving Members to join us in remembrance by:
- observing a minute of silence at 4:01pm (AWST);
- coming together with family and friends to share a meal and spend time with people of all faiths and backgrounds;
- leaving a candle on your doorstep or windowsill as a symbol of remembrance, mourning and solidarity with the Jewish community;
- doing a good deed or 'mitzvah' for Bondi; and/or
- sharing a message of condolence online.

Light will win.

📷 Late last year, the Board of SLSWA hosted the Chairs of SLSWA’s General Standing Committees at a special Board Meeting, providing an opportunity to collaborate and align on the Committees' objectives for the 2025/26 season.

It was great to see the committees chairs from Lifesaving (Richard Lissett), Sport (Glenn Eldon), Development (Elise Stallard), Education (Jacqueline McGregor), Honours & Awards (Tim Tucak), plus a member of the Youth Committee (Indiah Reidy) working together, sharing ideas and strengthening collaboration to help shape the future of Surf Life Saving in WA.

Thank you to all those involved in these Committees for their generous contributions of time and expertise!
