Surf Life Saving in Western Australia is a volunteer based not-for-profit community service organisation, providing an essential educational and emergency rescue service to all users of West Australian beaches. Surf Life Saving is a part of the history, fabric and future of this country. It represents the lifestyle, values and beliefs of the Australian culture. It protects life, it saves life, it promotes life. We create a safe environment in and around our beaches, through patrols on, in and above the shore and through education and training programs. Surf Life Saving is the largest volunteer movement of its kind in Australia and exists only through community donations, fundraising and corporate sponsorship. Surf Life Saving Western Australia comprises a State centre, 31 surf life saving clubs, support operations teams on the water and in the air and over 21,500 members who are all committed to saving lives and positively impacting on their local communities.

🔥 Good luck to all athletes hitting the beach this weekend as we continue our events of the 2026 Fuel to Go & Play WA Championships!

Late last year, clubs went head-to-head in the Short Course Surf Boats and Lifesaving events. This weekend, as we head into the Surf Rescue events, it's Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club WA leading the charge! Check out our Top 5 below and stay tuned as the race for Champion Club continues.

🚑 Recently, Fremantle Surf Life Saving Club in partnership with SLSWA, hosted an interagency training day alongside St John Ambulance intern paramedics, taking part in a variety of practical scenarios with a focus on strengthening primary and secondary response skills, patient care, and extrication.

Open to patrolling members from all clubs, the next PD Day will run on Tuesday, 10 March. They fill up quickly so be sure to check out our events calendar and sign up now!
