At FRSA, Duty of Care isn't just a phrase – it's our core mission. We're dedicated to ensuring Australia's first responders have the very best protection, both on the fireground and long after the smoke clears.

Occupational cancer is a serious risk for our frontline heroes. Exposure to harmful toxins, PAHs, and dioxins is an inherent part of the job, making immediate, effective decontamination essential.

That’s why we’ve partnered with De-Wipe Australasia to provide their scientifically proven, 100% biodegradable decontamination wipes. These wipes are a critical tool for on-site removal of carcinogens from the skin, helping fire and rescue services meet their WHS obligations and protect their crew’s long-term health.

By providing your teams with the right tools to eliminate toxins, you’re demonstrating a real commitment to their safety and future.

Set the standard for first responder safety. Strengthen your decontamination protocols today.

Over the past few weeks, FRSA proudly hosted Marinus and Ronald from Holmatro Rescue World. Travelling across Australia, they connected with our team and key clients through hands-on demonstration days, showcasing OmniShore, Next-Gen Pentheon tools, and the new BP20 Battery Pump. A great opportunity to share innovation, expertise, and real-world capability.

For clients who have invested in Holmatro Rescue Equipment, FRSA offers in-house or on-site testing and maintenance by experienced, factory trained Service Technicians, but between scheduled servicing, there are a number of critical checks end-users should conduct following every deployment, whether that deployment be actual emergency response operations or training.

Each month, FRSA will post a checklist of instructions from the manufacturer for end-users to refer to when conducting these post-use checks, predominantly focusing on close inspection and lubrication of tools after each use to ensure readiness for immediate deployment.

This month, we will look at user maintenance of CORE Telescopic Rams: https://bit.ly/3PdtHzQ

As a firefighter, your body works hard to keep cool, often needing to evaporate about a litre of sweat every hour. That’s why it’s essential to understand heat stress and how to manage it.

When you’re fighting fires, your body temperature can rise above 38 degrees. Firefighting kit is designed to help keep you in a safe temperature range, which is crucial for your health and well-being. Staying well-hydrated and getting used to the heat are important, but choosing the right Personal Protective Clothing (PPC) is the key to controlling heat stress.

Holmatro Rescue Products have long been considered the world's leading extrication and rescue tools and are deployed on a daily basis in Australia and New Zealand by rescue professionals who's job it is to protect life in a vast range of life-critical scenarios.

Our first post-use maintenance instruction is for Holmatro 5000 Series Cutters, should damage be identified or issues identified during function checks, clients should contact FRSA for further fault rectification and testing.
