Photobiomodulation therapy (low-level laser/light therapy) can be a safe, non-invasive option for hip bursitis โ€” helping reduce pain and inflammation, speed tissue healing, and improve mobility with no side effects. Some patients report improvements such as faster recovery, more comfortable walking, and reduced nighttime pain.

March is Lymphoedema Awareness Month, a time to increase understanding of this often under-recognised condition and the impact it can have on daily life. ๐Ÿ’™

Lymphoedema can develop following cancer treatment, surgery, injury or infection, and early intervention plays an important role in long-term management. At Clinical Laser Therapy Australia, we offer photobiomodulation therapy as part of a comprehensive, clinically guided approach to support lymphatic function, reduce inflammation and assist with symptom management.

If you would like to learn more about lymphoedema and the services available at CLTA, we invite you to read our latest blog post or contact our team for further information.

Recently, some of the CLTA team travelled to Cambodia to visit the Community Centre proudly supported by Clinical Laser Therapy Australia. ๐Ÿ™Œ

The Centre is home to forty children who have no living parents and are lovingly cared for by their adopted parents, Pilot and Selyar. Their dedication, energy and commitment to creating opportunity for these children is truly inspiring. CLTA sponsorship contributes to education and essential building materials, helping provide a safe and supportive environment for the children to grow and learn.

While in Phnom Penh, we also held an inaugural meeting with the Hands on Health Clinic to begin fostering pathways for integrating laser therapy into their education programs and future clinical use. We hope this marks the first step in making this technology more accessible in communities where it is needed most.

We are grateful to play a small part in supporting both local care and future healthcare initiatives. ๐Ÿ’™

Meet the Team: Dr Matt McLindon ๐Ÿ‘‹

With over two decades of experience in regional healthcare, Dr Matt McLindon is passionate about improving access to modern, evidence-based care closer to home. After recognising a gap in access to laser therapy in regional areas, he established Clinical Laser Therapy Australia to bring advanced photobiomodulation therapy to communities in Moama, Bendigo and Echuca.

When heโ€™s not in the clinic, Dr Matt can usually be found spending time with family or involved in the local theatre scene. ๐Ÿ’™

One of our clinicians, Dr Matt McLindon delivering targeted photobiomodulation therapy behind the knee as part of a personalised treatment plan. PBMT uses specific wavelengths of light to support the bodyโ€™s natural healing processes and is commonly used in the management of sports injuries and recovery, including soft tissue strain, ligament irritation, and overuse-related conditions.

It may also be used as part of care plans for other musculoskeletal presentations such as joint dysfunction, tendon conditions, and post-injury rehabilitation. Treatment is non-invasive and delivered following clinical assessment, with parameters tailored to the individual.

Who is PBMT suitable for?

Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) may be considered for a range of musculoskeletal and inflammatory conditions. It is often explored by people who have not achieved the desired response with other conservative approaches.

PBMT may be suitable for:

- Acute or persistent musculoskeletal pain or injury
- Tendon, joint, and soft tissue conditions
- Chronic pain presentations
- Certain inflammatory conditions
- Individuals seeking a non-invasive treatment option

Suitability varies and depends on individual assessment, medical history, and clinical presentation. If youโ€™re wondering whether PBMT may be appropriate for you, get in touch with our team at Clinical Laser Therapy Australia for a consultation. ๐Ÿ’ญ

January is a great time to reset routines, refocus on your health, and think ahead to the months to come. Whether youโ€™re returning after the holiday break or considering your options for the year ahead, now is a good opportunity to review your care. ๐Ÿ’†โ€โ™‚๏ธ

If youโ€™re considering photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT), also known as low level laser therapy, a consultation can help determine whether it may be appropriate for your individual needs and goals.

Weโ€™re looking forward to supporting our patients throughout 2026 with considered, individualised care. ๐Ÿ™Œ
