Kids are gullible little narcissists 🤣 As kids we believe everything is about us and can't apply logical thinking skills.
That also makes us very very vulnerable to internalising our parents trauma, turning them into negative self beliefs.

Gabor Mate says : Trauma is not what happens to you, but what happens inside of you because of what happened to you.

Your trauma is not the event, but the unresolved emotions still stuck in your body.

This gives your power, as you can still release all the old emotion.

If you can feel it, you can heal it.

It is never OK to be aggressive (unless in physical danger). Nor is it practical to start crying in certain circumstances, like work meetings, etc.

However, the physical energy of an emotion does need to be discharged. This needs to happen in a safe and supportive environment. If you can create this environment for yourself, please give yourself the space to express those held back bodily impulses.
If you need someone to hold this space for you, please reach out.

Healthy anger will give you the power to set boundaries, protect yourself, and create change in the face of injustice. It is essential to our life force.

But make no mistake, if your anger is part of a trauma and you have no way to regulate or safely release, it will hurt you.
If it's repressed, it will eat you up from the inside.
If it's projected onto others, it will destroy.
