Designed for children aged 6-10 years, this program turns play into practical learning. Across four exciting sessions, kids will team up to create intricate LEGO® builds while developing important life skills along the way.

🐶Let’s Play Pretend 🤠

Dog-Assisted Therapy at Kites Children’s Therapy isn’t just about cuddles and tail wags (although they are a big perk!) - it’s also a powerful way to help children build social and emotional skills through pretend play. With the support of our highly trained and intuitive dogs, kids are encouraged to imagine, role-play, and interact in creative ways that boost communication, empathy, and confidence.

Whether it’s pretending to be a vet, getting dressed for an adventure, or packing for a camping trip, these playful moments help children learn to take turns, read social cues, and express themselves freely. And it's a lot of fun!

Speech Pathology Week continues! 💬

Today’s theme is all about empowerment through communication - and at Kites Children’s Therapy, that’s at the heart of what we do. 💛

Empowerment means giving every child the tools and confidence to express themselves, no matter how big or small their voice may be. This could look like pressing a BIGmack switch to say “open” during storytime, or using a PODD book to request “more bubbles” during play. 🫧📖

These small but powerful moments allow children to take the lead, make choices, and be truly heard.

Whether it's heading into Kindy or their first job, social skills are essential tools for life. Our Dog-Assisted Occupational Therapy sessions offer a playful and effective approach to developing social skills.

With the help of our Guide Dogs WA expertly trained dogs, children learn to:

Kites - Our Story

At Kites, we provide personalised early intervention support, advice and solutions that transform the lives of kids living with disability or developmental challenges. We enable kids – and their families – to look to the future with confidence. A future filled with possibilities.

As part of the VisAbility family, we bring together specialists, therapists and experts from across the disability and childhood development spectrum. Then, working together – with families, as a family – we build a support network and solution specifically for each child, delivering tailored advice and support as early as possible, when it can make the biggest difference to their lives.

The solutions we develop are as unique as the kids and families we work with, and as diverse as the disabilities and developmental difficulties they live with. And that’s really the point. The Kites team is whatever families need.

We help kids grow – physically, emotionally, intellectually – and live life to the full. We help parents understand how best to help their children thrive. We provide answers and a plan for the future. We provide a sense of certainty at an uncertain, often overwhelming time.
