South Coast WA, we're coming down!

Our South Coast Tour is one of our favourite trips of the year! This time, we are running 4 events, at 3 locations, over 2 big weekends!

With water and beach roles available, there is something for everyone! We wouldn’t be able to provide these events without the help of our amazing local legends who come down and volunteer.

WE’RE HIRING

Ocean Heroes is on the lookout for our East Coast Program Lead as we scale our impact.

Help us improve the wellbeing of autistic people through surfing across NSW, QLD and VIC. You will be responsible for owning and executing our core programs, free surfing events for the neurodivergent community.

🌊 Whilst the Sun was sparse in the so-called sunshine state, the waves and vibes certainly did not fail to deliver!

We had a blast taking 50 neurodivergent individuals of all ages and abilities into the ocean at the perfect, peeling pointbreak of Currumbin Alley.

With the unwavering support of some veteran volunteers coupled with a tonne of incredible newcomers, including the wonderful .official QLD finalists, we were able to further each of our participant’s respective surfing journeys. We cannot thank you enough for your incredible energy & efforts! 🏄‍♀️

As always, we could not continue to deliver such a unique and inspiring experience to this community without the support of our Naming Rights Sponsor 🙏

Helping us make headway into the budding QLD region and building our local capacity was our wonderful State Sponsor Polymer Direct.

We had a huge volunteer turnout this past weekend and of course our Volunteer Sponsors and stocked the volunteer tent with delicious, caffeinated choccy beverages for peak pointbreak performance 💪 and sunscreen for all skin types to ward off the QLD UV! ☀️

Whether it’s bringing the whole family (and their beautiful service dog 🐾) down to our free events, packing up and heading on tour with us down south just to volunteer, jumping in the pool to swim laps for our Grom Team at the 24 Hour Swim, or even celebrating a family birthday party through our Surf Experience program… you guys embody Ocean Heroes to the fullest extent!

For our first episode, we talk about the bread and butter of our programs, our Starboards!

From giving extra stability for our first-time surfers to helping participants feel confident in the water, these big boards aren’t just equipment, they’re confidence builders, adventure starters, and sometimes even magic carpets for our Ocean Heroes 🌊✨
