This month’s West Coast Volunteer of the Month goes to Lea Matti (), a quiet powerhouse who brings calm, care and consistency to every event. Lea has a beautiful way of making participants feel safe and supported in and out of the water, while always being there for fellow volunteers. The kind of presence that might not shout, but makes a huge impact. We’re so grateful to have you as part of the Ocean Heroes crew. Like a precious stone left unturned, our East-Coast VOTM must have been one of the last remaining Bondi residents to convert to an Ocean Heroes volley.
But she’s burst onto the scene in a big way! Her infectious smile (exhibit A👆) and effervescent energy take Ocean Hero’s aura to a level that kids, families and fellow volleys froth on! Not to mention, she’s already bagged herself a Golden Fin assist 🙊

🌊 South West WA, we're coming down! 🌊

With the success of our Margs & Dunsborough events last year, we thought we'd run it again! You'll have the best of both worlds, surfing with us at Redgate Beach, PLUS stand up paddle boarding in front of the Dunsborough Bay Yacht Club 🙌

We have volunteering roles available in and out of the water too. You can either be in the ocean, taking our participants surfing, or stay on the beach and help out with wetsuits and certificates!

🏊‍♂️ THE Revo Fitness 24HR SWIM FOR 17–18 OF APRIL 2026 🏊‍♀️

Our biggest fundraiser of the year is back, and we’re getting ready to dive in 💥We’re teaming up once again with the legends at Revo Fitness to take on 24 hours in the pool, all in support of Ocean Heroes and the autism community 🌊💙

📅 Registrations open 22 January!
📍 Scarborough Beach Pool
👥 Teams of up to 20 swimmers
💰 $125 per swimmer — includes an epic swim pack, event tee and loads of other free goodies🌊
All abilities welcome — from Olympians to doggy paddlers (and everyone in between!)

Whether you’re chasing laps, good vibes or a challenge with mates, this event is all about community, teamwork and making waves for a great cause 🙌
